Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaHired a cot for our stay which we didn’t realize at the time but was charged $25 a night for, however we didn’t use it at all because it was rock hard. Had dinner at The Deck, was overpriced for the quality of the food served not to mention it took over an hour for our drinks and meal to be served. We ended up canceling our drink order due to the delay.
Loved the multiple pools, and the beach/wading area was great for young children.

AustraliaThe only things i didn't like was that pools were still dirty after we saw them getting cleaned. Preety disappointing that we had to pay full price for the day we attended as we didn't get check-in till 3pm when paying a lot of money you expect to pay for the full day. Could have either discounted a night stay or few breakfast free. Also, the price for breakfast could have been slightly cheaper as you're already spending so much money for your stay. But other than that, everything else was great.
Liked everything as it's close to everything and many pools to choose from.

AustraliaStaff were friendly and helpful. The resort was just beautiful and with 9 pools we were spoilt for choice. We had an amazing stay and enjoyed staying at the resort very much. Breakfast had a great selection and was one of my favourites so far. There's so much to do in Port Douglas We visited Hartleys crocodile adventures, Cape Tribulation, Mosmans Gorge, Birdworld, Green Island, Barron Falls, SkyPark and lots of other places too. Can't wait to come back!

AustraliaNo allergy and vegan labels for the breakfast buffet to cater to diverse dietary needs. Not many vegan options for breakfast. At the level of a 5-star hotel, this reflects a poor understanding of contemporary dietary preferences and their willingness to accommodate them. The air conditioning in the room couldn't go lower than 22.5C.
This was our second stay here, we love the pools, the swim up bar and the gardens. Great cocktails. The book exchange service sounds lovely (couldn't take advantage unfortunately as I use a Kindle for reading).

AustraliaBed was not very comfortable, and neither were the pillows but not a deal breaker. Would have loved to see more entertainment and / or activities within the resort. Food could be better.
Loved the resort as a whole. Very relaxing . Definitely will be visiting again.

AustraliaCleanliness of the grounds and buildings It was evident that regular periodical cleaning have not ever been done to maintain such structure. Roof cleaning and pool maintenance is required as age is evident around the property. Facilities management needs to step up to ensure periodical maintenance is completed throughout the resort.

AustraliaSome parts of the hotel were a bit dated and the pool next to our building had been drained and wasn’t clean which made our view less pleasant. I think this was because it was off season, however.
Great location, right on the beach and only 5min drive to the centre of town. The facilities were great, with a number of swimming pools and dining options and staff were fantastic. Our room was also very big with plenty of storage space for luggage. We also loved that they have water refills at the end of the floors so you can help yourself to fresh filtered or sparkling water - much nicer than having to buy bottled water at the shops!

AustraliaMinor and cosmetic patch-ups are required here and there.
We stayed in the large lagoon pool access room. Unarguably, the best room in the resort. Harrisons restaurant was superb with a great menu and very attentive and friendly staff. We also enjoyed a few cocktails at the pool bar. The resort helps out with the taxi vans, making it easy to get to and from Macrossan Street.

AustraliaA little overpriced for what it is, we also had no water the night of our stay as the water was off in port Douglas and were offered no assistance for toilets, showers etc. in comparison, a hotel we stayed in the night after gave us a discount on the room due to no water as well as drinking water provided.
The rooms were lovely and comfortable, pool was great and service was good. Good bars and restaurants.
