How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bed was really uncomfortable you could feel the springs in the mattress. We had to put the blanket under bottom sheet to make it better. My partner ended up on the sofa bed .

Quite location but easy walk to centre and marina. Lovely pool just outside the door. Great to be able to do laundry too. Would definitely stay here again.

There is rust under the kitchen sink where the hot water bottle is....it had a funny smell from it. Other than that cant complain as it was a great stay.
All the facility you need is there. Its right Infront of the pool so that's nice. Free car park. It was nice and quiet.

I would've liked to be a little closer to town around more people on holidays. It felt like we had a lot of people around us who owned their properties. It felt a bit isolated from the action and we were conscious of our noise levels and being in other people's space.
There was a restaurant at the resort where we had breakfast one morning. Good value for money. We ordered a share platter, there was a decent amount of food, and it came out quickly after we ordered it.

Loved the spacious apartment & facilities with direct access to the pool & excellent cafe. Also loved the location & proximity to the beautiful seafront, marina / restaurants. The contact & communications directly with the property owners was so helpful & reassuring.

The property is in a nice location with an easy to access pool outside our room. The rooms were nicely kept and found no issues with this property.

It was truly fantastic, they were accommodating with an early check in upon request, easy to contact, very clean apartment with everything we could have needed at hand (iron, washing machine etc), the bed was so incredibly comfortable, shower was good and it was only a short walk through the marine to reach the Main Street. Would absolutely recommend.

Kids not following the pool rules. Jumping off the side of the railing into the deep end with no supervision or care for other people in the pool.

The unit could do with some maintenance and updating. The large Venetian blind would only partially open, and the small Venetian blind had a broken slat at the top. The fridge kept leaking water onto the floor, and the water appeared to be pooling under the veggie crisper. The apartment is small and really only suited to a couple. We had to have the lights on when using the apartment as not much natural light makes its way into the kitchen or bathroom. The pool was great, but bear in mind it is part of the resort and used by many guests throughout the day. If you plan to go the Airlie Beach a lot, make sure you have a car or are happy to use taxis as it is a fair walk from the unit to town.
I liked the quietness and location to the nearby marina and harbour board walk. The parkland at the Cannonvale end of the board walk was lovely. We appreciated the fact that the pool facilities were directly across the corridor from our apartment. It was also handy having a cafe on-site. I also liked having access to the electric BBQ in the pool area.

Misinformation about the key and where it was located, being a Sunday and past midday it was hard to get in contact with anyone to seek clarification as to where the lock box was or what to do. People upstairs were very loud with heavy stomping when trying to get to sleep.
