How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was only a room provided and need to share bathroom and toilet with travellers from two other rooms. Rooms are upstairs. Overall it's clean, just that the hair dryer is with a thick layer of dust which is a bit disgusting. No food allowed in room. There could be loud noise at late night.
Big common area, with bread and fruit. The house owner provides transport service to and from airport at AUD 20, similar as uber charge and helpful when there is no uber or didi around.

one thing we didn’t like it was that all the guests have to use same toilet and bathroom .which we didn’t fill safe about it

The breakfast options could be a bit more wider but all in all I enjoyed my meal.
I arrived late because of my flight but the owner was flexible and arranged late check-in for me. I stayed for one night and it was very pleasant. The apartment was nice, tidy and clean. I booked a smaller room and it was enough for me as I travelled alone. The room had airconditioning as well.

took a while at the door waiting for someone to answer the door. not always have stuff at the house. need to share bathroom, and the door of the shower is strange, hard to get into the shower.
it’s clean and breakfast included.

The actual property was hard to find even with GPS. Located in a residential street which is opposite a railway line and poorly lit. You have to drive through an industrial area to get to it. There was no sign out the front and my taxi driver had difficulty finding it in the dark. I suggested to the Owner that he give full instructions as to the best way to reach the property, in writing at the time of booking. Also that he have an illuminated sign at the front.
The room is a bedroom in an 3 br apartment with shared living and bathroom facilities. It was not what I expected but served the purpose. The host was very helpful and provided a transfer in a shared vehicle to the airport at a very reasonable cost. Excellent wi-fi and basic breakfast ingredients. Very clean and uncluttered apartment.

Nothing we didnt like. Some People have mentioned train in reviews, but we found it was so quick over in seconds and only twice while we there, so was not an issue for us.
Had everything you needed. Clean and comfortable. Check in friendly and helpful. 3 bedrooms, we used 2 and didn't see person in 3rd so felt like we had whole house to ourselves. They do airport transfer for small cost but we had a car which took only a few minutes.

Bathroom situation. Needs remodel, huge bath (who is using this) 1 bath mat for 3 rooms, which was soaking wet for my whole stay. Please provide each room with own bath mat and get guests to hang up wet mats.
Room was sufficient for needs, kitchen and dinning were clean and tidy with ample breakfast choices. Communication was spot on Ride to airport easy to arrange and fast

It was not an hotel but a private house.
The host provided cerials, toast, peanut butter, jam and coffee and tea, which was quite great. Citchen to use.
