Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI did not want to leave.
Wren Cottage was a perfect R & R for us. The facilities were excellent, the fireplace kept us warm, the night skies a delight. A great place to escape. The in-room dinner was so delicious and there were plentiful and fabulous supplies for our breakfasts.

This is a well presented property, in a quiet location, still close to all the areas of interest in the Clare region. Well provisioned for breakfast, clean tidy and plenty of heating for cold nights.

New ZealandWe stayed for 6 nights and was surprised to receive fresh towels on the fifth day rather than a little earlier.
Great private locarion (no neighbours). We stayed in "Owl" cottage and the other cottage was not within sight. Excellent breakfast provisions. Very good location for everything in the Clare region. Also a visit or 2 to the vineyard resturant is highly recommended.

Beautiful cottage, spacious and well equipped. We’ll set up for all climates with a lovely deck for all fresco dining to enjoy the peaceful countryside and birdsong. There’s a log burning fire for cosy cooler evenings too. The supplies left for breakfast were very generous with lots of choice. The “Almost Ready” meal that was delivered to our room was very easy to put together, delicious and made for a very relaxed evening. The cellar door was just a short walk from the cottage, nice not to have to take the car!

AustraliaThe only downfall was the different levels of the house, lots of stepping up and down to rooms - but you get this with an old house; and when staying there you just need to be mindful of this.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay at Skillogalee House - It was a very comfortable property, with plenty of space for everyone. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms functional , the kitchen very well equipped and full of wonderful provisions for breakfast, snacks and complimentary Skillogalee wine which was superb. The location is stunning, and very peaceful overlooking the valley of vines. Highly recommend.

AustraliaEverything was lovely but could have made it clearer if we could drink the water or not - we boiled it. A few pegs to hang out washing would have been good.
A very comfortable cabin with a great cheese platter to welcome us plus fantastic breakfast supplies and a bottle of wine and lots of soft drinks plus all the condiments for cooking our own dinner - very impressive!!

AustraliaWould have appreciated some air freshener for the toilet!!!!!
The breakfast was excellent, except we were Pescatarian, so no meat was needed. The fruit bowl and biscuits were delicious and the little jams were yummy. Eggs were beautiful, tea and coffee, great, also, the home made bread was very nice and appreciated. Well stocked pantry was great too. I like the new look furniture, not into the old cottage look furniture that's very dated. Bath was nice to have. Privacy was appreciated and the deck was nice. The beds were very comfortable. Overall nicely equipped and very well furnished. A nice surprise to walk into!

The location among the rolling hills and vineyards of the Clare valley. The access to the walking trails. The privacy and quietness. The excellent comfort and facilities provided. The little extras that the hosts supplied and the attention to detail which far exceeded our expectations such as breakfast provisions, cheeseboard, wine, milk, juices, jams along with excellent cooking utensils. What a superbly presented property and could not fault. Will look forward to a return visit.

ArgentinaThe address on booking.com was for the winery cellar door not the cottage so in the pitch black dark of night it was a little hard to find the correct cottage. With the help of google maps we found our “Owl” cottage after about 20 mins of driving around.
We arrived late at night , no problem as we let ourselves in with the lock box key. I opened the fridge and was pleasantly surprised to see the supplies for a cooked breakfast. Everything we needed was supplied. Such a great bonus. Beautiful bush setting. Comfy beds. Our family had a wonderful 3 days here. Would highly recommend.

AustraliaOne of the bedrooms had glass panels in the door making it completely public, we hung a dressing gown strategically so we could get changed etc :) The bedrooms are super small and very little space for travel cases. The bathroom could have done with a bench or shelf too.
Breakfast was super generous and yummy. The location and view was amazing, even better than expected! Oh and the winery, was a standout in the Clare, and we visited a few so could make a good comparison. It's a must to have lunch there too.

AustraliaWe had such a lovely stay at Skillogalee. The homestead is in a beautiful setting overlooking the vineyard and dam and is a real old country house with newer living room addition. It’s very peaceful and lovely to go for walks at dusk and in the mornings. Our group had a wonderful time here. Breakfast and other provisions were beyond generous. Loved our stay. Than you!
