Room was smallish, extra $100 charge for additional rollaway bed seemed excessive given room was already close to $800 for the night.

Beautiful and clean, very good upkeep. Staff were extremely respectful, friendly and helpful. I was travelling with a toddler; difficult as it is but the staff at Sofitel made everything so easy for me. It was one of the smoothest transactions I have experienced as a travelling mother. The drop off/pick up area was spacious enough for Uber/Taxi/family to pick up and drop me and my toddler off with no hassle.

Welcoming, friendly service. Accommodated my special requests. Very clean room. As a returning traveller, I can honestly say the Sofitel is a wonderful place to stay. From the first moments of tranquility upon arrival into the entry courtyard, it feels like an oasis within the Melbourne CBD. Inside, a beautifully crafted experience awaits for all the senses. The hotel staff do amazing work to make it all happen, and always make you feel welcome with a polite ‘Bonjour’. Thank you for another delightful stay.

The room was not hoovered or dusted at anytime during our 4 day stay. The room cleanliness wasn’t up to 5 star expectations. Lots of missing attention to detail.

breakfast on the 1st morning we had it in restaurant no 35. It was a bit chaotic, had to ask for spoons for cereal, glasses for the juice, had to put the toast down at least3 times and then it was only just toasted. My coffee arrived at the end of my breakfast.

check-in was great and special treatment for my wife's birthday was a welcome surprise along with early checkin, since we arrived from an overnight flight at 9am.

No still water in the room. Had to request on several occasions during our stay. The weather was extremely hot so we found this quite perplexing. One of the bottles we requested was delivered to the room with an open seal. Room is a little dated, especially the bathroom. Shower in the bath was unexpected and unwanted to be honest. Maybe a little overpriced as a King corner room. A couch would make a great addition, instead of three single chairs.

Valet parking was a breeze and the staff outside were exemplary. Check in was zero fuss and the desk staff were polite and helpful. The room was comfortable and the bed was fantastic. The on site restaurant was an awesome experience. The location is second to none with bars, shopping and transport all a stones throw away.

I did not expect to have a shower over the bath in a hotel of this price range. it's actually quite dangerous climbing in and out of the bath tub when showering. The tap system was old fashioned, no mixer, just taps, no rain shower, very low ceiling in the bathroom. Also I don't expect to pay $75 for car parking when you pay close to $600 for a room. Finally, breakfast was good but everything was cold, coffee, bacon, hash browns, tomatoes and the like.

The view is brilliant, particularly at night. The interior of the hotel is also very impressive. The bed was good, so was the air flow and the room size.

The inability to pay via card over the phone to book.

Loved the service, location and facilities. The staff, after a small hiccup, went above and beyond to provide a small treat for my partner and his son’s birthdays.

It was the business end of town so most/all food and coffee places were closed on the weekend so nothing else was actually close by to enjoy.

Flash and beautiful hotel with the nicest staff. Stayed here as close to MCG for Taylor Swift which worked great..
