Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. AustraliaWe couldn’t identify an ironing board and found out later that it WAS there, but was a small one and we didn’t recognise it. The drain in the shower in second bathroom took a little while for water and shampoo foam to disappear, but wasn’t a problem.
The location is excellent - the rest of Southbank and the CBD were very easy to access. Quiet area. The building has a BWS and Woolies at the bottom of it. Very handy.

The view was amazing, the apartment clean and modern. We felt like on the top of the world. Also really silent, great shower and bed. The communication with the host was perfect. There is a real big groceries shop on the ground floor, coffee, restaurant and more. We didn’t spend time enough to enjoy the pool but it was available to us

AustraliaVery nice new apartments with lovely furnishings. Small but very cosy and the view was fantastic. We had a couple of hiccups during our stay however management were prompt at fixing up the issues and compensation was offered for the issues. Will definitely stay again. Location was perfect for us, right in the heart of everything with Bourke St shopping and all the city has to offer was not more than a $10 Uber ride away. Thank you for providing a lovely couple of nights away from the rat race.

AustraliaThe ensuite flooded on our first nights stay, we were unable to contact the manager until approximately lunch time the following day to be told we would be able to move appartments later that day. We were told we would be contacted when ready, this was then closer to 3pm. Moved to another apartment and had issues with the plumbing in the main bathroom, slow draining but did not flood. We were also only provided 1 key and entry tag even though there were 3 people staying. This provided careful planning if we wanted to go out separately. The second apartment we were unable to close the window in the lounge room. Also no basics like tea, coffee, sugar and milk provided as well as dishcloths tea towels and extra towels. Apartment is in an ideal location with spectacular views but all of these issues certainly interrupted our stay and made it difficult.
