Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaToo many steps inside and out for older people or leg/walking issues. The washing up facilities were down the stairs which again made it difficult to carry. Normally we would have left the house immaculate but to go back up the stairs carrying crockery was too difficult. The entryway to the property was a sharp turn coming up the mountain and difficult to manoeuvre for even a small sports car.
The views were beautiful as were the grounds. The house was outfitted with everything you could want. The 3 bedrooms were lovely.

AustraliaSingle bathroom could be a little challenging if you had the whole family with you as it’s located in the main bedroom so everyone would need to come through your room - day or night. Didn’t affect us as we were only two people staying. Bathroom is a very generous size.
Amazing views to wake up to in the morning. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Lots of extra pillows and blankets for cold winter mornings if needed and the sitting room/lounge area was a real bonus.

AustraliaParking was difficult as there were three cars parked on the right, so getting in and out in a 4WD was very hard. The white framed metal bed was so squeaky, every time you moved at night it was so loud and woke people up. Having a sink would’ve been great so we didn’t have to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. Having the bathroom in the main bedroom was a bit off putting. Even just having an extra toilet separate would be better. As a group of friends, we didn’t want to go into someone’s room in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.
Gorgeous views, friendly hosts, nice quiet area, clean and tidy, lovely place to stay, all linen/towels supplied as well as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Host gave fantastic, clear instructions about our stay so we knew exactly how to get there, where the key was, expectations etc.

It felt like home! Excellent attention to detail. It’s the little things that make a big difference, like the welcome sign, the bottles of water, the games and books, and the lovely and easy communication with the host.

AustraliaThere was an error with the booking system which meant that the 6bedrooms we had originally requested on Bookings.com, had offered this duplex house, that only had 3 bedrooms. The Bookings.com website somehow allowed us to purchase the same house twice, and over the same weekend. This left our group having to adjust our sleeping arrangements, given there was only 3 bedrooms (rather than the 6 we had needed). There is only 1 bathroom for the 3 bedrooms to share (it is the en-suite bathroom which is inside the master bedroom). There is only 1 air-conditioner which is also in the main bedroom, no other air con is available for the rest of the house.. There is no sink in the kitchenette, although the bathroom can be used to wash cutlery and dishes.. When we contacted Bookings.com regarding the error was, they offered a refund on 2nd house we had been charged for, however we were then asked to ‘pay the difference’ for the large group that were now crammed into the 3 bedroom house. We were not very pleased with this type of treatment given the error had occurred from the Bookings.com system, and yet, we were being asked to pay extra, due the the group. It wasn’t handled very well, unfortunately.
Renee was lovely to speak with, and was helpful with our concerns with the booking errors.
