How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Pillows Frying pan instead of electric frying pans. Especially when it's hard to clean with scourer provided. Hot water wasn't very good.

Just one deficiency to be aware of IF it matters to you. There are no laundry facilities, washing machine & dryer. This can be a problem if you are doing a road trip where dirty clothes can accumulate.
The accommodation is beautifully sited in a very attractively landscaped garden. It is quiet and peaceful with great birdlife and filtered views of the glorious Spring Beach which it sits above. We stayed 3 nights and used it as a base for 2 days of exploration of Maria Island.

There is nothing I can say besides we didn't book long enough
Loved the accommodation in all aspects, from the comfort of the beds to the little touches that just welcomed you to relax. Loved the veggie garden and talking to Chris about the planting and his passion for all things tassie. The birds are so relaxing to sit back on the porch and enjoy them chattering away. Wish we had of booked to stay longer we would have loved to do a few more things.

Nothing! If anything, the pillows while sleeping were flat so head sunk in and flat to the mattress. A very minor detail.
Loved everything about this experience. Host Chris is such a great guy!! Everything was A1 with some thoughtful additional goodies thrown in. Even breakfast items to ensure your tummy is full to start each day, in this beautiful and spectacular location. Unbeatable hospitality and care are taken for you to have a wonderful stay!

Beautifully appointed apartment in a lovely setting, heaps of birds, and not far from a lovely beach and walks. The extra treats were really appreciated as well as the fresh eggs from their own chooks.

The only negative but not a spoiler was no washing machine.
The peaceful location and the spacious layout of the unit. The extra attention to details was also greatly appreciated along with the warm welcome.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay for a few nights. Very clean, modern and comfortable. Well appointed with all the mod cons and everything you need for a few nights on a lovely property. In a great location just a shortish walk from the beach. A cosy comfortable place during some very stormy weather.

Beautiful gardens and ocean view. This place is delightful. Perfect for a quiet and peaceful stay. Parrots feeding within view. Dozens of special touches including fresh eggs & champagne.

Generous supply of breakfast items including fresh eggs, bread (toaster provided), a nice array of jams, free tea and coffee, chocolate pralines and a bottle of bubbles waiting in the fridge. The booking gives the guest access to a whole unit to themselves with bedroom, en suite bathroom, and a spacious kitchen/lounge room with a sturdy table ideal for remote work. There's also a nice outdoor area with couches to sit in on a breezy summer's day. All within close reach to the beach and with ready access to the stunningly scenic Great Eastern Drive.
