Some of the staff were not nice. Particularly the lady that signed us out and overcharged us. Not charged us according to the original quote from Bookings.com. Even when I showed her the quote she said that I should have booked directly with them (which was a lot dearer than bookings.com). We just had to pay what she said then had the hassle of emailing the manager who gave us a refund because we were right all along. We didn’t need this hassle and being belittled for not booking direct at a much dearer price.

Parking was a major pain point as we actually requested parking on site on booking. The TV in our room appeared to have some difficulty in operation. We actually spent most of the time in our room sitting watching our view with a glass of wine.

Loved the room and the view was great. The bed and facilities were good and clean. The location of the Stamford is very good giving wonderful views of the bridge and the river.

Difficult to get into the driveway with the trucks blocking entrance and driveway, had to drive around the block a number of times waiting for a truck to clear the entrance. the construction on the next building made it difficult to enjoy the beautiful outside courtyard with the noise. Every time we chose to sit outside, construction was noisy - grinding and hammering. I know it is out of your hands but it did impact on Pav Bar and outside seating area comfort and atmosphere. The work on the bridges and Eagle Street Pier cutting off the walking areas also was a nuisance and at times noisy. The joys of a city!

Location is great if you want to travel the river and city area, easy to access City Cat and walk around the gardens. View is amazing from the floor we were on, thanks to the receptionist for the choice of room when booking us in. Easy to walk to a number of things and with local restaurants very good location. Room was clean and well maintained Pool was great, clean and beautiful view over the river

None of the cooked food was hot. Cold bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes. My partner had an omelette made . That was hot and delicious.

The variety of the breakfast was excellent and the view was great.

Breakfast was ordinary, I had expected the venue to be more in keeping with the style of the hotel. Limited food choices in the buffet too, coffee wasn’t good either. The pool had limited number of lounges. A few cabanas would have been more welcoming, as well as more foliage.

The last time we stayed at this hotel the smell from the Argentinian restaurant was horrendous so we made a complaint. Staying this time there was no smell at all, thank goodness.

When I stayed at the Stamford in Adelaide there were robes in the room, it would have been nice to have a robe especially to walk down to the pool in, also a few power points in my room weren’t working, I had to unplug the floor lamp and charge my phone and the tv in the bathroom didn’t work

They used to have the most delicious smoky bacon at the breakfast buffet but no longer. Also, the scrambled eggs are more like something you'd get at a school camp. The steps into the hot tub are dangerously slippery. My partner and another guest both came to grief and almost hit their heads on the concrete. There used to be a lot of sun lounges by the pool but there were only 2 or 3 left and those were starting to fall apart.

Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool was a nice temperature.

The bath had a bath plug that was tricky to operate. My partner almost cut their finger off trying to dislodge the plug. Perhaps a differently designed plug would be better. Also the big TV in the bedroom didn't have captions enabled despite our efforts to engage the staff to press the buttons to unlock the subtitle feature on the TV as we are Deaf customers and need access to captions.

Clean, spacious rooms to our liking. My partner in particular liked the roomy bath in the bathroom with its own TV which was captioned, what a perfect experience of relaxing in the bath and watching the TV at the same time!

My only complaint relates to only having one coffee machine at the Breakfast Restaurant. First world problems! One machine was not enough and it meant longer than necessary queues. Staff also had to regularly top up the milk etc just to keep up with demand which added further to time spent in queues. As a minimum, I would recommend an extra coffee machine or better still that the coffee order be taken and served by a waiter/waitress if possible.

We liked the Room, the beautiful view, the room service & the comfort of the beds and seating. On check in we were apparently upgraded to a better room which was appreciated.

Lots of construction around the place meant it wasn’t relaxing. Pav bar doesnt offer a good selection of wines. Reception didn’t recognise the package I had purchased included parking. Had to show proof through Booking website

The breakfast as the restaurant was large and industrial. I found it noisy and the food average.

The communal areas lacked atmosphere and the bar closed really early (it was Bank holiday weekend). The room didn’t get cleaned until very late and sometimes we came back from a. Day out and it still hadn’t been done.

Location was great - on the river and next to the botanical gardens. Easy to walk into the city. Nice room, comfy bed. The pool was nice and the gym was good

Lumpy bumpy mattress topper, like sleeping on pebbles. Took it off so all good after that.
