Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLovely cottage on a working vineyard. It has great views of vines from the cottage windows as well as the outdoor spa. The cottage not only comes with the usual necessities, but the extra touch of under floor heating, king bed, double shower and wood fire just makes it more special and unique to other B&Bs in the Barossa. And dont forget an outdoor spa to relax in! The location, privacy and breakfast included is above average. The hosts are lovely and the opportunity to support local business in region through their vineyard and the grapes they supply winemakers is really important to us as guests. Cannot highly recommend enough this cottage, and its so well priced too. Each town is only 10-12 mins away. Loved our stay there, wished we could stay longer and will be back for sure when visiting the region. Thanks so much for hosting us Stephan and Anette.

AustraliaThe only very minor improvement could be thicker or better quality pillows on the bed but we still had comfortable sleeps.
We loved everything about our stay at Stephanette's Cottage. Anette is the perfect hostess and made our stay extremely comfortable and easy. We arrived on Easter Friday and provisions for breakfast, snacks, wine, port and chocolate were provided for the Easter long weekend. This was unexpected but we were extremely grateful as it took the stress away of needing to buy supplies on a public holiday. It also meant we were on 'holiday and relaxation mode' as soon as we arrived. The attention to detail is impeccable and it really felt like staying at somebody's very loved home rather than accommodation. With a vineyard right outside your door, you feel totally immersed in the beauty of the Barossa Valley.

AustraliaNothing! Place was very clean and exceeded my expectations. We loved it.
The goods supplied by the host were high quality and there was a good variety for the breakfast and great bread. The cottage was super cute and extremely clean and well maintained. The backyard is beautiful with the scenery and the spa is also amazing a must.

AustraliaOnly thing that could have been better is we could not find a facility guide in the room. Would be good to be able to confirm the information we were given on arrival. Never did find the wifi password but it wasn't important enough to go and ask. And it took some effort to figure out the coffee pod machine never having owned one. The roads near the property have no footpaths and when we were there the verge was not mown making it feel unsafe to walk on. We had initially thought to walk to the farmers - probably a bit over over an hour each way - but decided against it.
Stephanette's Cottage provides extremely comfortable, spacious and private accommodation for a couple. For our winter stay we especially liked the underfloor heating and the fire place. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly - having started the fire and turned on the heating prior to our arrival. They gave us an excellent run through the facilities in the cottage before leaving us alone but made it clear we could call on them as we needed. The room had more facilities than we were expecting although some things we did not find immediately. On day two we found the tea in a little cabinet on the wall at the left hand end of the kitchen bench. Coffee was at the other end. We kept intending to try the spa but we never did. Too busy enjoying the fire inside. We used the cottage as a base for the evenings - getting up early each morning to go and explore the area leaving at about seven and returning at five in the afternoon. If we didn't get up and get going it would have been too easy to stay in all day. A huge range of breakfast supplies were provided from cereal to bacon, eggs tomato and mushrooms, that easily got us through three days. And also a number of bottles of wine. My wife was very impressed with the cereal provided. We ate lunches out and snacked in the evening on whatever foods had taken our fancy while out and about during the day. The cottage is close to the Barossa Farmer's Market that is open on Saturday mornings. We loved the location of the cottage and found it central to all locations in the valley but also very private and quiet. You have to travel by car to any of the locations in the Barossa Valley we selected to visit and at best you could have selected accommodation adjacent to one of them. Nearby (5 min by car) Nuriootpa has the Barossa Distilling Co (could have been tempted to settle in for the evening) and the Barossa Fresh Foodlands (has a huge range of local products at the deli).

AustraliaWould've been great to have Netflix on the TV. Parking is in the open - so the car got pretty dirty under the gum tree.
Very generous breakfast provisions and great location. Really quiet and peaceful stay with only a few occasional cars off in the distance that could be heard. The bed was extra comfy and the jacuzzi made all the difference. The extra goodies were also really appreciated.
