Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaMost buildings such as this one in Australia do not have proper wall soundproofing, have hollow doors and single glaze windows. Thus the rooms are noisy and one can hear any sound coming from the neighbouring rooms or hallways.
The great location is close to the start of great walks, the friendly and lovely staff including the chef who cooks very tasty food, the overall atmosphere with a lower level with seating provided and a terrace. Reasonable price for the room.

AustraliaRude customer service, dirty rooms, didn't make any changes even after complaining. The staff's behaviour at the cafe/restaurant was shocking, they didn't care to inform that the food we ordered was not available/sold out, when we were given the wrong items n we complained, we felt harassed. Very disappointing.

Australia1. dirty bug ridden beds 2. blocked sink on arrival with rotten old bandaid floating in it. 3 it’s just not maintained very well 4. changed rooms and that room you couldn’t lock the door. they did get somebody to fix straight away. 5. the door’s between rooms are so thin. there was a couple having sex and you could hear everything. 6. the flag pole has a rope with metal on it that was banging from 4 am which woke me up. it was like a bell ringing 15 times per minute. 7. my son got the kids spaghetti for dinner, the meat was frozen.

AustraliaIt was as if some of the staff didn't care. Kettle was on the floor, had to go searching for cups, key to our room was missing. Breakfast staff talked to colleagues while we were ordering and we felt like we were interrupting their conversation. It felt like a backpackers and the staff were there to ski, not serve the customers. Food was good and.good value and the bed was comfortable and waking up in the snow was amazing. Cost nearly $1000 (including cost of transport you have to take to get there and one day ski lift pass) the daytripper to Charlotte Pass is an attractive option!
Brilliant location and super comfy bed

Australia1. This hotel is NOT at Perisher Vally and SHOULD NOT consider as accommodation if someone search hotel around Perisher Valley. It is claimed to be at Perisher Valley when I purchased but it is at Charlotte Pass. 3 days before confirmation date, an email has sent to me saying they are so far from Perisher and requires $120 per day if I want to go and return. And the timetable is very limited. I was so mad at the first day. The only transport is provided by them and it takes 1h single way as it is full of snow. 2. Dirtiest place of this world, I would mark this room as a garbage bin. You can see all kind of rubbish under and around beds. You have used plastic bags, used tissues, even half Oreo …. You have no quilt…. What you have is two layers of sheets and two half size blankets in between , which are full of yellow stains. Toilet smells like man public bathroom. Water is feculent. One day the oversnow transport is cancelled but no one told us. And which makes me successful wasted $700 for courses and lift tickets. 3. After discuss with the staff at Charlotte Pass office they promise to contact Perisher Valley for my cancellation and refund. Good news they did nothing and Perisher Valley refused to do anything.
Very lovely friendly staff, nice kitchen food and coffee

AustraliaWhere do I start! Keeping in mind covid is still a big issue, it was disappointing that only once were people asked to adhere to the request to have masks on whilst on oversnow transport (which was consistently late) and the tube. The toilets in the bar area were filthy and only cleaned once a day. Check in was at 2pm but they didn't turn up until 2.30pm and the room wasn't ready until 2.45pm. There was nowhere secure to store luggage before and after check-in, and things were stolen. Tea facilities are in the room - but there are no mugs. If there was wifi you had no way of finding out how to log into it or even buy something more secure. Shower is cold by 9pm and still cold the next morning. Take ear pugs. Food is ordinary and they don't tell you starting and finishing times. there's no process to collecting your food once ordered - you have to hope you hear them shout out your name when it's ready or it will be cold when you get it. Staff hogged the seats by the fire at the bar at night. Service was abysmal - most staff really couldn't care less and there was no one overseeing them. "Cashless, but can charge back to your room" as offered doesn't exist - you have to carry your phone or card with you and pay on that. To keep load light we booked ahead (and paid for) skis, boots, apri boots etc ... no boots available in our size when we arrived and had to make-do with whatever we could get - apri boots three sizes too big, stocks were way too small, ski edges not sharpened pretty much since the day they were purchased which was many seasons ago. That's just the main points! I know it was tough not having visitors for 2 years, and staff are hard to get, but it doesn't cost to communicate basics to your guests, and set standards. Given the logistics and costs of getting in and out, you are better off taking your chances with Thredbo, Perisher etc.
Location is great , with the lifts just a short distance away. Donuts at the tube station are delicious. Great skiing location for beginners. Bed is comfortable.

AustraliaI’ve seen better backpackers accommodation, the room has a kettle, but no milk or no where to purchase milk, the rooms were expensive for what you get , dirty and run down, the bedding was terrible, we had a single doona on a queen bed ,but we had a spare bed so we used the doona off that bed as well although it was urine stained, the bathroom had no doorknob and the shelves were dirty, the walls were paper thin and we could hear the person next door snoring . No mobile service if your with Optus and the wifi is woefull . No tv or bar fridge , this was the biggest killer for me as even peek season there was no entertainment. Food was terrible, they advertise other restaurants in the area, but they only open for lunch, so your stuck eating at the hotel and the menu is minimal and substandard. We stayed 3 nights and considered leaving early, but didn’t want to fork out anymore money . My advice if you do Charlottes pass ,download a lot of movies on your iPad and take food with you , pay for better accommodation.

AustraliaWe were there in Autumn to do four days of bush walks. Thredbo was too far from the walks and you have to pay for the chairlift every day. This hotel is reasonably basic but provides everything we needed. We were concerned about the isolated location and the lack of cooking facilities but in the end they have excellent food available at a reasonable price. It's located near all of the walks we wanted to do. The staff were excellent and the place had the feel of a cool traveller's hostel similar to ones we have stayed in overseas. My booking.com genius discount meant it was a very good price.
