Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIt was literally a demountable donga with another demountable set up as a toilet block. No facilities whatsoever with a camp kitchen set up for the whole sorry mess. None of this is obvious in the description on Booking.com and pay paying an exorbitant $180 for the night is the worse form of a tourist trap. Completely unacceptable.

AustraliaThere was no staff at the property. Our booking description from you stated room had toilet, shower, hardwood floors, queen room--it had none of these. We paid $175 for a basic box with NO amenities. The shared toilets and showers had not been cleaned, with water, dirty towels on the floors. This was vastly over-priced, appalling level of accommodation for the price we paid.

AustraliaUnappealing upon arrival. No care taken to present the property in good order to arriving guests. Greeted by a rude man upon check in. No information given about the property or facilities. The cleaning staff had to show us to our room and where the amenities were. (the room was a donger). The room was old and although it had been cleaned, was filthy. The bathrooms had not yet been cleaned and were run down and dirty (don’t arrive before 4 as nothing will be clean and ready for your arrival). We found the bathrooms on the other side of the building near the staff quarters were in better working order so we used those. The room had no kettle/crockery/cutlery and those supplied in the communal kitchen were inadequate. The kettle was broken and the kitchen area a mess. The roof was leaking above the communal space and a huge puddle of water right below the electrical appliances. The verandahs needed to be blown off. Outdoor furniture was filthy and cans of cigarette butts on the table. Rubbish bins were overflowing. Security was inadequate as our door wouldn’t lock and this wasn’t acceptable when travelling with young children. This property was completely overpriced. $149 a night was far more than what this property was worth. Do not recommend.

AustraliaThe man at the reception of Albert Park Motor Inn for key collection was not friendly, made no eye contact, spent minutes on mobile phone outside the building while I stood in the reception area.. The room looked nothing like the photos online, large yes. outside tea and coffee presented with little sugar not restocked, jug had bad connection, day two not working at all, very disappointing. very little amount of crockery, cutlery and cups.
Location was fine, other guests friendly.

AustraliaFilthy (floors clearly hadn’t even been vacuumed and dust and creepy marks all over walls, light switches, no bin in room, bin outside overflowing with beer cans). Shared bathroom was so gross, we chose not to shower and the toilet had dried either vomit or spray poop all over the seat. We actually drove to a public toilet to do our business. Shared kitchen is outside and is barely functioning. You have to hold the button down on the kettle to boil it. The lock to enter our room was very sticky and took several goes to unlock, which is disturbing. My daughter dropped her teddy on the ground, and it was so dirty we didn’t let her have it back. No 3 second rule can possibly apply to the state of those floors!
Close to Stockmans Hall of Fame and Qantas museum.

AustraliaThe room we paid $170 and it had no ensuite. The curtains were tied on by string and were disintigrating. We had to walk about 15 metres to shared ensuite facilities that were dirty, and over the 3 days we were there were never cleaned. The airconditioner didn't work so we were cold overnight. There was one thin blanket and no spare blankets or pillows in the room. The camp kitchen had no utensils or crockery. We felt the room was worth $80 at best.

AustraliaAbsolutely everything - I agree with all other negative comments. The room was not clean, bedding was not clean, bedding was just a sheet on a mattress, a Tv was provided but there was no remote to use the Tv, no heating, no basic facilities like even a kettle, room was advertised as 25m sq but was a donga room - basically a shoebox with a bed, room was advertised with a shared kitchen facility that actually had a sign saying Staff Only so I didn’t think I could use that, a desk was in the room but no chair so I couldn’t use that, the shared bathrooms are run down and horrible… the list goes on. I felt like a refugee in a detention center. It was wayyyyy overpriced for what it was. Obviously just a blatant money grab and terribly misleading. It was horrible in every aspect and I couldn’t wait to leave, I will never go back. I’ll be much happier pitching a tent if I ever return to Longreach and happier saving the hundreds of dollars wasted on this rubbish. Clearly the operator has no pride in what they are presenting to customers.

AustraliaSee above. (What we liked)
We originally booked and paid for the Outback Adventures cabins only to find out at check-in that they had a shared ensuite. Fortunately there was a room available at your Jumbuck property so we paid the difference and took that room. The lady at reception was helpful in this change. Presumably because it was rodeo weekend Longreach was busy and the price reflected this. However, once TV reception was fixed on the second day of our stay we had everything we needed except for usable internet. The housekeeping staff were pleasant and helpful.

AustraliaEverything! Mislead in terms of what accommodation was - it was a donger, not a motel room! You shared shower and toilets with the construction workers building the resort who were residing in this place as a staff residence. It was ridiculously overpriced for what it was and unclear what it was. The one motel where you picked the keys up from for all motels in town was staffed by generally unhelpful man. Won't be heading back to Longreach anytime soon because of lack of standards and will be telling everyone I know not to bother either.
The door to the donger locked.
