How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Bed sagged in middle. Aircon filter needs cleaning, as bad smell in room while it was running. Disappeared when off.
Good location, walking distance to eateries. Supermarket required a car to get to. Large room with great view over harbour.

The room smelt a bit musty when we first went it. Although we could open the door there was no fly wire door. No windows to open which i usually prefer to have than air conditioning

The bed was uncomfortable, very soft and dipped in the middle.
The rooms were very clean, roomy and comfortable. The bathroom was recently renovated and very modern. Loved the view from our porch, it was stunning.

Clean and the bed was really comfortable, it was within Close driving distance to the cruise we went on. Nice view over the bushland .

Dining options available in the village were limited and very expensive. A microwave and toaster in the room would have been very useful.
It was a nice location, handy to all the village venues. Spacious room and plenty of PowerPoints near the bed. For all our rechargers.

The room felt tired and dated, decor was dark and a bit depressing. Aircon/heater was in the wrong place to adequately heat the room. The sofa bed couch was very uncomfortable to sit on
The location was good, nice balcony to sit on, good spa bath and shower, comfortable beds but no heated blankets.

Room are looking a bit tired due to age.

Attitude of one of the reception staff.
Lovely room and good lounge facilities. Strahan is easy to get around and very beautiful .A great place for the river cruises and Australia's longest running play - lots of laughs. No food in hotel at time we were there but good local bistro and cafes handy.

The room was very dusty and had a musty smell. The bathroom had a fair bit of mould in it. The beds could have been king-sized but were only double in size and fairly uncomfortable. The room was fairly cold and the bedding wasn't adequate enough.
Wonderfully close to the Gordon River cruise terminal. The room was big it had a TV a table with some chairs a bar fridge. Water pressure in the bathroom was good.

We stayed 2 nights , room doesn’t get made up . Only meal offered was $75 buffet , nothing else on offer. I was charged $17 after I left for mini bar which wasn’t used!!!!

The bed was too soft for me.
Location was great. Next to harbour where tour boat left from. Short walk to the train tour. Very short walk to great restaurants.

We explicitly asked for two beds (for two elderly ladies) and were advised it would be okay. When we arrived we found that’s not what was reserved. It was corrected but it shouldn’t have happened. We found there was no toaster or microwave in the room which was disappointing as we wanted to fix our own breakfast. The restaurant only had very expensive buffet options for breakfast and dinner and we can’t possibly eat that much!

Buffet dinner & breakfast were very well done. Staff and facilities at View 42 was excellent , friendly greetings by all staff , good variety of food , beautiful views of harbour. Great place to stay from check in to check out.
