After I had left, I received a voicemail asking me to ring the owners. I rang them 3 times to return the call but no-one answered.

Great location, pity the rest of the apartment didn't stack up to the photos and older reviews.

To start with to gain entry to the apartment was a code sent 6 messages down in some correspondence not in the welcome pack that one would think they are referring too, upon arriving and not being able to enter the property, the number would not answer and the out of hrs number was disconnected. The view that was pictured and promised was not at all like pictured and a tree was covering the whole window view. The loungeroom had no working lighting. The $150 cleaning fee that was requested and paid was so well done there was a sticker dated from 2018 about defrosting food attached the the lamp, the underneath of the bed had dust thick enough to write your name in and left behind hair ties and lighters, to top it off the top arch of the walkway was growing mould.

The Location was great, and the place had everything you need for a short stay, maybe the people caretaking the apartment for the owners need to be reviewed and it would have been a whole different experience.

It could have been a bit cleaner, like the bin in the kitchen. There was garlic bread still in the freezer. The lint filter in the dryer was chokkas which could be a fire hazard. The front door off the street and the rear door to the bins were sticking so most times of using them they were not locked - again a security issue.

The location was fabulous. just a short stroll to The Rocks, Barangaroo and Circular Quay to catch the light rail to other parts of the city.

There are a few shortcomings. The major and defining issue for me was the bed - I do like a firm mattress and have one at home however the bed in the apartment was dreadfully uncomfortable ☹️ It was like trying to sleep on a concrete slab and I would hesitate to stay there again if the mattress was not replaced or at the very least fitted with the a memory foam topper. Smaller irritations were the TV not being a smart TV so no streaming services could be accessed, no reverse cycle air conditioning - the apartment was quite cold and the heater not up to the job - and the lack of a key to the balcony door.

The location was fantastic with a great view of the Harbour Bridge, a short walk to Walsh Bay (a lot of stairs!!), The Rocks and Circular Quay. there area was quiet and very pretty with lovely historical homes, churches and businesses all around, including a restaurant and bar right next door, reputed to be haunted and with a fascinating past. The building is lovely and it has a great history, apparently being one of the the first apartment buildings - if not the first - constructed in Sydney. Unfortunately this means there is no lift and there are three flights of stairs to the top floor - luckily I only had carry on luggage for my short stay. The stairs are wide, well made, safe and well lit, but they would be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. The apartment is very spacious for a one bedroom and has been nicely renovated with good appliances in the kitchen and laundry. It is well presented with nice furnishings and a large screen TV.
