Super friendly hosts. What a stunning lodge in beautiful natural surroundings. So lovely to wake up to the sound of nature whether it be insects or rain. Enjoyed a fabulous swim in the creek which was a first for us. Just wished we could have stayed longer but already planning a return visit. Highly recommended.

This is a nice little cabin in a well known birding area, that is private, has no noise but for the birds. There are lots of birds that are right outside your door, and even a near by Platypus on the property. There were maps and bird books provided by the host Within minutes of this property are a number of well known birding locations. I saw multiple new to me species. Great little place and we will be back.

Since insects love me, I wasn’t fond of the outdoor kitchen. That said, it was well-equipped.

The lodge is set in a beautiful place on earth and the design is well crafted.

we loved everything about this property! The unbelievable views and walks, down to the little details inside the property. Nothing was forgotten. we had firewood brought to us and given recommendations for places to eat! The property is exceptional and I would recommend this to anyone who needs to just getaway and recharge.

Fantastic accomodation for birding, well appointed, so much to see on the property. Bed was super comfortable! We saw the Blue-faced Parrot Finch our first day & the Double eyed Fig Parrot on the last day from our verandah. Wendy our host was great!

Every aspect of our stay was perfect and well-considered by Wendy and Glen.... beautiful comfy bed, fantastic functional outdoor kitchen, and the indoor/outdoor rain shower were fabulous additions. Then the little touches - binoculars for bird watching, local plunger coffee, luxe toiletries, nice tea towels to use. We loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to visit in the wet season!

Would be great if the fridge and the jug could be outside with the kitchen.

Perfect place to wind down and relax. Owners are lovely. Kayaking in the lovely clear creek was a bonus. The weather was good while we were there so the heat wasn't too bad, but just be aware this accommodation is not air-conned.

The lovely, modern cabin is set in stunning and peaceful natural surrounds, abundant with birdlife. Fantastic emphasis on sustainability, and closeness to nature, with lovely open air (private) shower and kitchen facilities, whilst maintaining creature comforts. An amazing place to recharge.

Without a doubt, the best stay in the region ( really, one of the best anywhere ) The lodge is beautifully designed and appointed, with the highest quality original bespoke furnishings, extremely comfortable king bed, quality linen. The wonderful shower space is 4sqm, along with large well appointed bathroom with views. The undercover kitchen on the deck has everything you need for self catering including a baby webber, hot plates, all utensils, crockery, glasses, even a sharp cooking knife ( a big plus ). One feels like being one is in the wilderness, the stunning mountain views, beautiful trees all round, with plenty of well maintained open spaces around the lodge. The tranquil platypus mountain water creek with natural rock pool was divine to swim in, even in July. Waking up to the sounds of singing birds at sunrise was absolutely memorable. Highly suggest book Sweetwater as part of your Cairns/Port Douglas trip. Far North Queensland is not just about the water and the reef. The tablelands are beautiful to visit. Being only 25 Minutes from PD, you will be a world away in nature. Tip - stay at least 2/3 nights, to soak up nature, swimming ( with a bush hut cooking area ), the walks and the relaxing lodge. (Mt Molley Pub 10min away) In every sense, a very unique stay that I suggest should be part our everyones "eco-experience" when travelling to FNQ. Derek and Paul, Melbourne

Shower open to outside, and no seal from bathroom to rest of the property meant spiders every day. None of the other properties we stayed in have had such a welcoming attitude to large spiders indoors! No blinds or curtains, so hard to sleep after dawn. Ruined our stay as it was hard to sleep. Very odd design, totally open plan.
