How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Pillows were ridiculously soft. I think all hotels need to offer a completely firm memory pillow option .

Elevators did not work properly the first night which caused queues in the lobby. Breakfast was OK but too pricey
The room was clean, bed was spacious. Location was the best, close to everything.

3 people in our room and only 1 chair to sit . Would have been good with a small lounge so we didn’t have to sit on the bed all the time.
Location was spot on. Close to everything you could possibly need. The pool was amazing. Breakfast was great. Staff were excellent.

I realize it was school holidays and it was always going to be busy but the lack of working lifts was an issue - having to wait 10 minutes or more for a lift every time was not great.
Fantastic location and wonderful staff always make this place a great option in the city.

The shower was run down. The cap on top of the shower switch was off. Shower was running all over the bathroom & couldn't move the shower head down. Slipped in the bathroom because all the water. The toilet tank is in the wall which is shared with the bed. When you flush its so loud you can't sleep. Pool was full of chlorine. I never seen more muddy pool in my life. Couldn't use lockers in the change/sauna room because it was for external customers of the spa, not for hotel guests. First day checked in and the lady didn't even tell us where to take the lifts up. Had to wonder around as they were on the opposite side. I said good bye to her and she ignored me. She seemed annoyed I didn't give her my email address. When checked out, 1 lift out of 3 seemed to be working. Us and other guests waited good 10 minutes to be able to get down. It kept coming back full. Some took the stairs from level 12 cuz they got sick of waiting. Too expensive for what you actually get... I would not rate this 4 stars hotel. More like a 3 if any...

The Hotel is bit old so expect few things to squeak .. Lift stopped working few times. Ques everywhere from lift to lobbies and to breakfast..
The location of the hotel was awesome .. everything is nearby.. just minutes away ..

The only thing I didn’t like was that I pre ordered a continental breakfast for my 2nd morning and it turned up over an hour late despite 2 phone calls. It eventually did turn up and i think the error was that it went to the wrong room. I was called by hotel staff, the duty manager I think and the charge for the breakfast was refunded. Which was good customer service. The lateness of the breakfast and waiting around for it meant i was running late to shower and get ready to leave as well as enjoy the breakfast. So it was a bit of a shame to end that way, but overall it was a great stay and I will still come back.
I loved the location, the room, the facilities, including the pool and the bar. I was pleasantly surprised and very thankful that when I turned up early to ask to store my luggage, I was told that my room was ready. So I was able to put the bags in my room and then go off and meet friends for the afternoon. I was staying there at the same time as my sister and her family so we did several things together, include enjoy the pool and have pre dinner drinks at the bar downstairs.

More attention to pool area on hot days. No towels left and the water was murky.
Breakfast excellent. Location excellent. Staff lovely. Looks nice, bright and modern. Loved how my request for early booking and high floor were met. Very impressed when we got there at 8.30am and our room was ready and we got an amazing view. That’s 5 star service. Thank you.

Fire alarm went off from 1215-1245 in the middle of the night. It was an accident from another room but woke us all up and took an eternity to sort. We also had an issue with the air con - we couldn’t get the room temp down
