Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe bathroom is too small. And the lockers in the room are way too small to put all your stuff which would be fine if the owners wouldn’t complain all the time that stuff is on the floor…
Free Dinner is very nice :) it’s clean and location is good.

United KingdomSome things are a bit old and need replacing, because even though they are clean they don't look as good. But its more for aesthetic reasons 😉
Very comfortable, very easy to book and if you need something you can just text them and they will always reply really quickly. Amazing location, great price for what it has to offer, a great bed with comfortable and clean linen, breakfast, dinner, laundry (for a fair price, wash and dryer) and wifi.

New ZealandThe beds were creeky. Whenever someone turned in their bed it made sound. Also the floor was squeaky in some spots. Having no reception/ staff whom to talk to in person was quite inconvenient.
The location was great. It was clean and well maintained. I had the dinner on 1 day and it was a very good vegetarian meal.

AustraliaVery hard too climb beds. No charging port if you given the top bed and no one is carries long wire with them when traveling. Thus, I think one towel should be provided for person staying less than 5 nights.
Roomies were nice. Great location.

ItalyThe cons were various. First of all the lack of on-site staff that force you to communicate via phone. Second in Venus Harbourside there is no chill room were people can chat and meet. The kitchen is pretty small and there are just 4 chairs to sit down and eat so if it’s busy you are gonna eat standing. I was in a 4 bed room which was super tiny with lack of shelves and hangers to keep everything sorted. No night light for each bed or curtains for privacy. Not many plugs. Tha bathroom was inside the room which is nice but very old, again with no shelves to put things while you shower.
Let’s say that for the price I paid it was more than worth it. sheets were clean. Frugal breakfast included but most of all a good dinner included! Much appreciated! The overall experience was positive but there are a few things that could be improved.

Japanmm, Not really much. I think some people find it is bit difficult to check-in without any reception. Personally, I didn't make much trouble, but if your phone dies and you haven't remember the passcode maybe it could be challenging. The only thing I would consider next time for longer stay is their mattress is a bit old and uncomfy to sleep. (the one in top bed)
The location was perfect! and plenty of things around this hostel. And inside the room was quiet, as they had internal policy not to talk or answer calls in the room. We can talk in common areas. Plus, they have a nice terrace.

Australiano luggage storage after check out, The bathroom needs bath mats that are elevated as you can't use the toilet after someone has a shower, the water stays on the floor around the toilet. very selfish guest with no consideration for the needs of others but constantly complaining while herself not following simple rules like no video calls in the room when others are present no music or videos with sound in the bathroom in the morning when others are asleep
clean , kitchen with everything you need, great location, mostly great guests friendly and respectful, good vibe in general

IrelandThere is only 2 bathrooms it could definitely do with some more and the showers don’t feel very private as it is just curtains they are a bit cramped.
The beds are comfortable and they are very easy to contact for any questions you may have! It is a good location not too far a walk from the city.
