Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

In terms of food, I was impressed with the selection...under impressed with the taste. I was VERY disappointed in the tea I ordered...just tea. I wanted to sit and savor a warm cuppa while I waited for friends to join me. Over priced. Served in card board. Half full. VERY disappointed! The room was nice but the price I was given for a night "changed" each night. I felt it was a "bait and switch." The third night was hundreds of dollars more than the first night. Due to time, I stayed the first night than canceled the rest of my stay. The prices I was given was higher than my 2 friends who were also staying there. The location in Circular Quay was fabulous! The cleanliness was consistent for Marriott. I greatly appreciated the assistance of the concierge. The 2 people I delt with were VERY helpful...pleasant and professional.

Australia1) Lifts were reduced making 'morning peak' unbelievably difficult. 2) Tried to get dinner in the restaurant one night at 7:45 and was told "Sorry, we've set up for breakfast". Had to go out for a burger. 3) On departure requested my car be brought out. did not have the stub but was told "that's fine, I'll let them know". This didn't happen. 15 minutes later we checked out. 10 minutes more wait. Checked with the gent fetching cars. He had not been advised. Was told "There's 2 in front of you" 20 minutes more wait. Not a great departing memory.
Location is unbelievably good for tourism. Short stroll to everything. Amazed that there was an actual driveway in the CBD fantastic for a family driving. Makes picking up and dropping off the vehicle so easy. (The charge is steep but it is Sydney CBD.) The hotel is beautifully kept and housekeeping were very efficient and thorough. Room comfort was fabulous. Beds very comfortable.

AustraliaWe had some problems with our booking. We booked for 4 people with breakfast, our confirmation from booking.com said breakfast was included for 4 people. On checking in I found out that breakfast was only for two people. I was told that I needed to take the issue up with booking.com and try and get a refund from them for the additional breakfasts, after a conversation that in my opinion took far too much effort (3 people and showing each of them the email confirmations) they honoured the breakfasts (on checkout I was still charged the breakfasts but they took it off when I pointed it out). I was surprised that they made it so difficult, they said they have this problem a lot with booking.com however they choose to use this booking service. They did other things well, it surprised me that they tried to make it difficult for the customer who had paid for the service with proof.
The location is fantastic and the rooms are nice.
