Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaThe room was very basic and not overly attractive. It didn't feel luxurious at all. The bathroom was great though and the bath was a bonus. We asked for a room with a nice outlook, but our room mostly faced a brick wall. The pillows also were not great.
Location was fantastic as we were cruising out of Circular Quay, so it was a 5min walk to the ship. It was also only a 15min walk into the city. Right next door is a little cafe where we had a fantastic breakfast which was well priced. The light rail is also only a 5 min walk away.

The location of the hotel is amazing for those that do not mind a quick tram ride or a walk to the shops. The rooms and beds were comfortable and clean. The staff are so attentive and helpful, throughout the entire stay. The buffet breakfast had so many options for all the family.

Only 2 minutes walk to trains, ferries, trams, cafes. Kids loved the pool and being able to use the pool from 6.00am to 11.00pm is far more accessible than most places we've stayed. Staff were super friendly

SingaporeOther than that. The rooms are very dated and are in need of renovation. Staff mixed me up with another guest with the same last name and took me to the spa suite room which looked like a hostel. After almost an hour of sorting it out, I was finally taken to my room with the opera house view, which is slightly better than the spa suite room. The bathroom doors, tiles, facilities are looking tired and dated. If the rooms could be renovated to as nice as the lobby, that would be great.
Location is fantastic. A short walk to circular quay and opera house.

AustraliaThe customer service was pretty slow and standard, though the front desk was full of staff. I called about 20 mins prior to get my car ready and still wasn’t ready when I reached the lobby. The valet parking was pretty pricey, but paid for convenience and hence service was slow. The bathroom was dated, no fan, needed drawers/cupboard at the vanity. I was expecting more from a 5 star hotel.
The pool was nice and not cold. I really liked the portable cot, my baby slept well. The beds were comfy. The buffet breakfast was great
