It's a big hostel so it's hard to know people.

Kind of nothing in particular. Maybe the shower could be improved as you get the floor wet in the bathroom once you take the shower and there is no way around it! And it takes quite some time for it to dry.

Lovely facilities - everything feels quite fresh and new. Had a 4 female dorm - very specious compared to a regular hostel room! Rooftop terrace - top! Staff was very helpful with the breakfast suggestions! Used the laundry - was okay! Great neighbourhood and brilliant location if you want to stay close to the opera house!

What's not to like? My first time back staying at YHA in a long time and it was so pleasant.

Brilliant location (if you don't mind a bit of a hike up the hill from Circular Quay), sitting on an interesting archaeological site. Love the open atrium and the rooftop view is a gem! Get up early for the sunrise. Kitchen breakfast facilities bright and airy. Organised food storage and good space for meal prep. Very secure site. Comfy bed. Espresso coffee available for brekkie on site! Great proximity to convenience store if you need anything else..

beds should have curtains to give a little more privacy and also I stayed in one room with this huge toilet but there was no curtain so it was always splashing the toilet

The rooftop was the main reason why I initially booked this hostal and I was right. The view of the harbour and the Bridge and the Opera were completely worth it. I was happy to be able to see clear skies and rainy days The location was amazing, just to be able to have walks around the opera as well at any time was one of the main highlights. Also if you plan to do tours all the fancy hotels like Four Season are next door so it's very likely the tours will pass to pick you and drop you from there. The breakfast which was 12 extra AUD booked in advance was also really good with the fresh bakery. This guy at the reception Jesus was very friendly and kind as well... Excellent location - I only stayed in Sydney for 17 hours, hence being in the CBD so close to the opera and harbor was amazing! Beautiful view from the rooftop bar. Very friendly staff at the reception when I arrived but also during check out. Got an upgrade for my room, so only had total of 4 people in it, which was great (not that I spent much time in the hostel).

Felt sorry for a young man who was put in our dorm room to share with elderly ladies but he was not fazed..what a nice guy 😀

The occasion was a 50th Reunion and thankfully the inclement weather cleared to a bright sunny day...celebrating by the water was perfect!

I enjoyed it all.

Reception is staffed 24/7, which is quite helpful. The staff was courteous and professional. The kitchen was huge, with several prep, cooking, and clean-up areas. The dining areas were big and always clean. The room was large, so we had plenty of space to put things. A beautiful buffet breakfast was offered at additional cost. There is a terrace that over looks the harbor- amazing view day or night.
