Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAs with most person-free transactions booking lacked. One always has a feeling one might be making an error or have not done something that may prove necessary. A last minute room change by the hotel was inconvenient - only communicated electronically. I arrived 11pm after a 4 hour flight (no email) so had to call to find out why the room code didn't work... Relying on phone connectivity only is a definite negative, especially when traveling internationally. The room smelled slightly musty - perhaps the carpet is overdue for shampooing. The in room amenities lacked. There was a sink, a small refrigerator a couple of cups, glasses and a kettle but no microwave, no cleaning materials, no utensils (other than two spoons) or plates. Getting room service (replenish ing coffee, tea, sugar and milk) required a phone call from ones own phone, or during the day a walk to the reception 'kiosk'. I drink a lot of tea and coffee early morning and evening - was shocked when I asked for extra milk to be told "there's a convenience store opposite". Sorry. I thought I'd paid for a room with basic conveniences included. Some late night/early morning noise from other rooms, alas. Thank goodness I had ear plugs with me. The shower had nowhere to put shampoo/soap/wash cloth. Inconvenient! The exhaust fan must have been from a Boeing 747 - it was noisy. The lighting was extremely bright but was in the center of the ceiling so using the mirror to shave was full of shadows. Nowhere to put toiletries except on the back of the sink. A few thoughtful, minor changes and some updating (clean windows, chipped paint) would improve the hotel significantly.
I liked the room size and curious shape. The bed although not luxurious was comfortable. Plenty of seats (six) and coffee tables. Nice to have a balcony and out of room sitting area. Although the room overlooked the main street the glazing kept most of traffic sounds out. High ceiling was a plus. Good size shower room/toilet.

AustraliaFor light sleepers the closeness to the street as well as the thin walls could be an issue.

Australia1. No elevator for older people! 2. Air conditioner not cool enough for the Sydney hot weather 3. In a twin bed room there should be a Power Point by both beds.
The location was very handy to get to Circular Quey to board the Princess Cruise.

ChileI knew there was no elevator from other reviews, no surprise there, but the ceilings are really tall so there are more stairs than normal - wouldn’t recommend if you have lots of heavy luggage. The air-con was very tiny for the size of the room. It truly felt like we had no air-con on, and it was hours before we even felt a bit of cold air. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but just note that the front desk is open only for a few hours, and this really feels more like you have a room in a secure building than a hotel.
The location was great, neighborhood full of nice food and bars, and was super close (walking distance and buses) to the CBD and Circular Quay. The room was very big, it had a sink and fridge to store our snacks, and a private bathroom. So for 2 people it was ideal. We made sure to check that the linens and mattress were clean, and they looked new. We had booked a hostel with a shared bathroom, but for a lower price, I got this room instead with a private bathroom - which was really comfortable. We had read a few bad reviews on Google, but it truly was a fine stay. If I came to Sydney again with a small and limited budget, I would stay again.

AustraliaSo much. Better if honesty amd Accountability Was In place rather than This silly Level Of denial About what infact is going on Around your Hotel Tis an issue it really is. A you must Confront ti !
There is construction going on all along that strip of Oxford st Darlinghurst Seriously major and long term. ! Infact I walked down to the head office of the construction site and asked about this The project manager told me it as huge project. And long term and would be noisey for months and months yet and on two occasion s during my stay in Early January 2024 the noise of drilling penetrates through walls at a highly Unacceptable level. Managment needs to be mindful Of this ! A non descript response when asksd by those two Dudes who sit all Day staring. Into Oblivion At the front Desk Is simply Not good enough. People Pay. Money witn an expectation of peace And quiet In the room They have paid for ,and this simply Isn't acceptable and Please don't use the worn out old..... We Can't do anything. argument. Iits rubbish and just not good enough. You are the managment you know much more about This of this work taking place and for goodness sake is you don't. Then Why the hell Not ? than the visitng customer It's your duty to be Aware of what's happening. Moving forward Lot more work Anticipated And it's simply Not fair To Provide Rooms To unknowing Tourists. Who find themselves stuck in a room With major construction noise to have to endure Ruining There time In Sydney ! What iv typed here ot is critical and you must, ( hotel managment) Give it serious thought. And let's see a bit more pro active behaviour from those Guys at the front desk please Here Is My Email m_reddington@hotmail.com My name is Martin Im Melbourne. Base
