We just didn’t stay long enough to enjoy it completely!

We liked everything: the well equipped and maintained cottage, the breakfast (loved the freshly baked bread, the home made lemon butter and raspberry jam), the farm itself and the great welcome from Kim and little Susie the friendly dog.

Leaving at the end of the stay!

LOVED IT! From driving down the well maintained farm track, to the warm welcome, to the animals, to the banter, to the breakfasts! Kim and Sharon are lovely hosts, and are passionate about what they do, where they live and the animals (farm and domestic) they share their lives with. They are also very easy to chat to. The unit we stayed in was perfect - and immaculately clean. The bed linen was hotel standard. The breakfast is delivered at a time between 7:30 and 8:30, and consists of warm, freshly baked bread, homemade jam, yoghurt, cereal, fresh fruit, juice, plunger coffee granules, and, if you are lucky, freshly laid chicken eggs (you cook them how you like them). I can't wait to recommend, and to revisit. The only negative comment is that I didn't get to see the new 'home' for their duck, known as Thousand Dollar Duck! A new pond was being installed for it. ☺️😂

It's hard to put into a short review just how much we loved staying here. Sharon and Kim were wonderful, friendly hosts who made us feel so welcome and looked after. The breakfasts were delicious, the rooms were super clean and the farm was beautiful and quiet. Loved seeing all of the animals. Would recommend to my family and friends. Thank you, Sharon and Kim.

There was nothing we didnt like but it would be good to have some hangers and a cupboard to store our clothes.

Taras Richmond Farmstay was confortable and homely. We conpletely made ourselves at home and felt very relaxed. We had a good stay. We enjoyed the warm bread and lovely nreakfast spread. We also enjoyed the lovely conversations with Kim. It has also a good location which is near Richmond, Sorell and a couple of farms. This is a good stop if you wish to travel to Port Arthur and Mount Wellington.

The price of feeding the animals should just be included in the full price. The stay itself is great and I don't have any other complaints. Theyre a lovely couple and its a stunning area.

Loved the area definitely was what I was looking for when it came to being away from people and letting the kids explore around. We also got a bit sunburnt, and the owners really helped look after us. I loved that they were they're to help when needed, and the breakfast was amazing. Fresh bread every morning was marvellous!

I think this is an excellent place to stay and the breakfast basket was yummy with the hot fresh bread. I am disabled and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. I highly recommend this place to stay. Will stay again!

That I only stayed four nights! Should have stayed longer.

I almost have no words (that's rare). I'm a regular traveller to Tasmania but this was my first time at Taras Richmond Farmstay. Everything about Taras was PERFECT for us. SPOTLESSLY clean, quiet and everything you need for an extremely comfortable stay; comfy beds with electric blankets, outdoor table & chairs and a nice hot shower! We stayed four nights (three adults) and I wish we had stayed longer. This is a farm for rescued/retired animals, so it is ethical farmstay too. There was plenty of nocturnal wildlife and bird watching opportunities were great. Breakfast supplies were plentiful and delicious; including ground coffee. Less than 5 minutes drive to Richmond and an easy 30 minutes to Hobart. I HIGHLY recommend Taras Richmond Farmstay for a quiet break and consider staying a minimum of three nights so you can enjoy the region and the great food and activity options. Thanks Kim & Sharon for your unrivalled hospitality.

Perfect 2 night stay, close to Richmond and awesome Wineries to visit
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children

    • Stayed 2 nights

There was a surcharge to feeding the farm animals, we were quite happy to skip this, coffee machine with pods would have been nice, Richmond Town did not have many places open to eat dinner at, other than local pub that did not have good reviews, had no choice other than to cook at the farm stay but I was happy to prepare at a quick meal, kitchen had everything we needed.

Really nice 2 night stay, Sharon was great, awesome breakfast provided, fresh hot home made bread that was fantastic, jams, fruit, yoghurt & eggs. Close drive to Richmond Town Centre, nice place for lunch or afternoon tea, best to do a shop at Sorell & cook at the Farmstay, you will see the odd animal roaming the farm, peaceful stay, lots of beautiful wineries to visit , local farming of cherries & other fruits you can purchase. Great stay overall, the whole family really enjoyed our stay, thank you Sharon.
