The shower was a rain shower above a big spa bath in a marble floored bathroom with no curtain or shower screen, not ideal. There were some cobwebs and mould markings on the bathroom ceiling, the room furniture could do with being upgraded.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean and the bed was comfortable & toiletries and a nice cereal & toast breakfast provided. The hotel did great food and was clearly popular with non residents.

We didn’t have a lot to complain about, just a few very minor things like no highchair available in the breakfast room. I have a couple of suggestions though if they’re open to it? my parents are elderly and I didn’t even consider the stairs when I booked. could there be a pop up warning or info available about having to climb a flight of stairs to the rooms? also as the shower is in the spa, a safety handrail on the wall might be an idea. My Mum was very apprehensive about falling in the big spa, and my Dad avoided it altogether. Just thinking for future guests and liability issues.

The building is beautiful and retains that 19th century charm. The rooms have been renovated so are quite modern, clean and spacious. It was nice and quiet, and almost felt like staying at a friends place. The balcony had a beautiful view and my toddler had the best time running along and watching the cats below. The inclusive breakfast was a nice addition. It was all set up well so we could help ourselves which was handy.

Shelves in bedroom very dusty. Breakfast - no staff around to provide instructions on how to use machines. No spare water for coffee machine (which ran out of water each day). Bread stocks not replenished from day to day. Very small cups for tea/coffee.

Shower in SPA bath difficult for an older couple like my wife and I to step up to to get in and then also to get out. There were no hand rails to help to get in and out. A bit scary as all hard tiles.

The continental breakfast was fantastic. Loads to choose from. Our room was huge with a very large bathroom and very clean. The bed was very comfy. Loved sitting on the verandah enjoying a cuppa first thing in the morning and watching people go about their business! Staff were extremely friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely go back.

We were dissappointed about the breakfast. There was no staff around, and we had to find out everything ourselves, including the coffee machine, and other machines. It would have been so much better if someone could assist us, and maybe have made us some eggs or something.

We enjoyed the room, it was big and had a jacuzzi, which was pleasant.

The coffee machine wasn’t working and the replacement one wasn’t working either. No staff to bring this to their attention. So, no coffee was to be had.

Breakfast was included. It was a help yourself continental breakfast with plenty of options to choose from.

An exhaust fan in the bathroom would save more mildew bloom on the ceiling. The shower head is over the spa bath that has no glass screen or shower curtain; this in itself creates lots of water on the tiled floor which is dangerous. The stairwell needs better lighting on the wall near the landing level; my partner missed the last step and luckily was not hurt. There was no hot water for tea or coffee in the dining room for breakfast.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at this hotel and can guarantee that we will be staying again next year. We love the location. We love the food at the hotel and the service is always friendly.We definitely are already looking forward to our next visit
