Sadly the outdoor furniture was not at all clean. Outdoor table was so dirty a wet cloth wouldn't clean it, fortunately we had packed table cloth we were able to put on the table, outdoor chairs were full of cob webs, we checked the underneath and found a redback spider. Barbecue was clean but the tray was so full of grease it court on fire as we were cooking on it. The inside house was clean but there were dishes we had to rewash prior to using

Location was great. Very peaceful surroundings sitting out looking at the views.

Only a small thing but the lack of block out or heavy curtains. This usually wouldn't be an issue as we are early risers but late nights meant that a darker room in the morning would have been appreciated.

Perfect for our needs with 5 children, including 2 small boys. Basic but comfortable furnishings and all the facilities we needed.

While the Family Retreat was generally well appointed, it felt daggier than I had anticipated. The furniture was well-worn, there were lacy, old fashioned curtains in the kitchen where there should have been blinds for privacy and a vinyl decoration on the wall was partially peeled off. The kitchen lacked a few important things too - there was no large saucepan and lids that were there didn't fit the saucepans, and the knives were really cheap and useless for cutting vegetables. The outside furniture all needed a good clean and the clothes dryer was so rusty it really should be replaced.

The Family Retreat was in a peaceful location overlooking a paddock with cows, sheep and a horse. It wasn't close to anything in particular, but was centrally located for enjoying a variety of things in the Margaret River region (15mins to Margaret River township, 20mins to Busselton, 25mins to Yallingup etc). It had a good sized bathroom and the bedrooms were a good size too. Some elements of the kitchen seemed well appointed - plenty of plates, glasses, cutlery, pod coffee machine with pods - too many utensils perhaps - but other things were not as well considered (see below).

There is no wifi, and the mobile phone signal is very weak. If you often need to connect to the Internet, please consider carefully

The room is clean, the customer service replies in a timely manner, the price is very affordable, it is very convenient to go everywhere, and the scenery is beautiful

the curtains let too much early sunlight in, the fixtures and fittings were of cheap quality and the sliding doors flyscreens constantly came off

was big and spacious, owners were friendly and engaged with the kids with the animals.

Unfortunately the oven didn't work which we only found out when trying to make dinner. However we were able to use another units facilities for our purpose.

The hosts were very friendly and responsive to our requests. The place was clean and comfortable.

Luckily we had two houses, as one oven/stovetop didn’t work, and one bbq was better kept than the other. Could do with some oil, milk, salt & pepper, more tea towels and replacement bin bags that fit please!

Location was fantastic. Property was well set out and had most things we needed. So peaceful and great space for kids to run and play.

The bathroom needs painting and there was no ironing board in my chalet - although as our friends were in the next chalet we could borrow theirs.

the location was excellent well located to Margaret river and Yallingup . I liked the fact that there was insect repellent available - this was thoughtful

We did find the air fresheners to be very overpowering. We just moved them outside for the duration.

A great amount of space and beds. Laundry facilities are a great bonus. Coffee pods most appreciated.

Areas of improvement Wi-FI more cups and pots for cooking, mats for the bathroom it was a slip hazard.

Cosy, comfortable chalet with plenty of room. Kids loved seeing the sheep and horses. Very handy location close to beaches and wineries. Great spot!
