The only flaw I can point out is our bathroom sliding door. We both got locked in the bathroom a couple times because it doesn’t slide very easily. Almost broke it a couple times too! Room 527.

The location was perfect for getting into the city via the tram, and getting back and forth to the MCG was super easy too! I love the decorations, the huge hallways, the room was comfortable and spacious and literally had everything we might need for a couple nights stay.

Very convenient location and Denise was always checking in how the trip was going and very accommodating that our room was ready a little earlier (international flight) and happily held our bags both days. Wee card and chocolates were a nice touch to the stay. Can't wait to come back. Thank you so much for having us.

There is only one lift which was sometimes slow, but there are stairs for in a hurry. The hotel was going through some renovations which made the main entrance unusable.

After a terrible experience with the AirBnB we booked, we booked this hotel last minute. The check in staff were extremely friendly and the hotel was lovely. The room was fantastic, facilities was everything we needed and all-in-all this hotel made our trip to Melbourne.

Nothing really to complain about to be honest. I will add that the trains do run past the hotel so if you don’t like noise then maybe this will be a miss for you BUT ! Our kids enjoyed watching them pass.

We absolutely enjoyed our little staycation. The manager and staff did everything to make our stay comfortable and just the little extra touches they did for our kids just made us want to come back again. Our kids had the best time just being in the hotel, the inflatables that were in the pools were awesome. They didn’t hesitate to fulfil our special requests. We will defs be back soon.

Next time an apartment a bit closer to the lift.

No breakfast. Great location. Trains, trams very close. Clean. Great swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Windows are all blocked. No fresh air in the room. The hotel is just next to the railways. At certain parts of the day, it is noisy.

Colonial style hotel (ex Victoria Railway management building) with many nice details.

There was nothing we did not like through our experience except that we could not stay longer due to work commitments.

Beautiful historic hotel that has been upgraded with respect to its history. Even though it is close to the railway line, we heard and felt nothing inside the hotel.

Beautiful old building. Excellent location. So central to everything we wanted to do. Right next door to Southern Cross Station. Gorgeous interiors. Comfortable beds. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Denis, the hotel manager is wonderful and friendly and always available for any queries or troubles.

A small, moveable table to put your cup of tea onto when you're sitting on the sofa to watch telly. I brought in one of the verandah chairs & used that as a table. Also, an exit/entrance at the Train station end of the building would be great, otherwise you have to walk an almost block-length of distance simply to get to your room from the only entrance to the building.

Super location, you cant hear the street noise at all. The beds are amazing, slept like a baby. Friendly helpful staff, lived it, will return.

Pool change room where closed and you had to use front lobby , was told it’s been closed for a fair few months ..

Such a beautiful old building in a perfect location next to Spencer street station . GM Dennis was so nice and accommodating in providing a extra bed for my son and was very helpful with late check in he even left a card and chocolate on arrival :) obviously it’s a bit older but still clean and tidy property

The room generally needed a good clean, dirty walls and splash back in the kitchen really stood out to me.

Love staying in this old hotel, great character and the rooms are massive, especially compared to regular Melbourne hotel room sizes
