Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandEntrance to the hotel outside bar opening hours is only possible from the rear of the hotel. Uncomfortable narrow stairs that must be reached via a poorly lit approach. The bathrooms need renovation. Water from the shower spills into the bathroom corridor. The rooms are poorly soundproofed, you can hear what is happening in the neighboring rooms and in the corridor.
Good hotel location. Possibility to go out to the shared balcony. Plenty of parking spaces near the hotel. Very good price-quality ratio.

New ZealandThe showers could do with an area to get changed in private. We found it hilarious and made sure we didn’t meet each other but it could be a very traumatic situation for someone else.
This was a road trip stop for us. The historic look of the hotel caught the eye. The food was impressive-with good selection, huge portions and a range of vegetarian options. The shared toilets and showers were clean- but without gender specification- which was a bit disconcerting. The staff were really helpful and friendly.

RussiaIt was a little hard to find after hours. But after finding the way, everything was good for one night stay on the way to Melbourne Wi-Fi also did not work
Room was spacious, shared bathroom facilities were clean A lot of old photos on the walls were a perfect match to the atmosphere You have to consider that this is an old building (more then 100 years), so it is not a modern fancy location

AustraliaThe meals downstairs weren't very good and one night I had to wait 90 minutes for a dried up beef schnitzel and no salad or veggies renewed in the salad bar. After two bad meals, I discovered the food at The Somerset was fantastic and ate there from then on.
It had a big room, comfortable mattress. The shared facilities were good and kept clean. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. The common room was good to eat breakfast and store food in although it could have been bigger or perhaps two fridge/freezers.

AustraliaOnly saying this stuff as I really did feel a charm and would like it to flourish. - The older bathroom had a shower that could probably be revamped or replaced even if it isn't used. - The newer shower's drains could be right where the shower is rather than outside the door. - The kitchen utilities could be in a small maintainable kitchen instead of the hangout room.
I liked the old style of the building and rooms. I also like that the facilities were clean as well, It gave me a bit of trust. People were friendly and helpful.

AustraliaThe shared facilities are quite limited and there was no hot water unfortunately. We had to boil the kettle to have a decent wash. The communal lounge room had very basic tea/coffee provisions, but no sink which was a bit odd. Someone had vomited in the hallway during the night and I stood in it which was not very pleasant. No fault of the hotel itself, but just not very nice.
The hotel is in a good location. The rooms apparently have had a recent upgrade and the beds are quite comfortable.

AustraliaThe single bed was unexceptional. Staff didn't top up the tea and sugar in the lounge on the first night of my stay but did so when I mentioned it to them. Accommodation was on the top floor which meant a lot of stair climbing.
The location was excellent in the centre of Millicent. The facilities were commensurate with the cost of the accommodation. The pub food was good. The verandah area was a nice touch. Lounge area was of a high quality.

AustraliaI have no complaints as I said although meals were a bit dodgy.
The Grant Hotel is good value for money. I stayed four nights and really enjoyed my stay. My Bed was comfortable. The hotel was reasonably clean. I didn't think the meals were very good and ate at the other pub. I have no complaints. Hot water in the shower takes a little while to come through. No paranormal appearances while I was there. Good location to explore the Limestone coast.
