Not a huge issue, but check-in felt rushed (even though I was the only one waiting at the time). I was handed my key but not advised my room number, so had to call the check-in staff back to the desk to let me know what room I was in. A super tiny thing that is easily remedied, but left a confusing first impression.

Room was beautifully designed, gorgeous furnishings and super comfy bed - I slept so well, I was late to a morning meeting! :) Special shout out to the night staff, who were so nice and friendly! I had arrived back from a concert late in the evening and sweaty after a long walk (I decided to walk from Rod Laver Arena rather than take the tram haha), and asked for ice water and they promptly delivered a bucket of ice to the room. An absolute gem, highly recommend!

There was a couple of things that could have been slightly cleaner such as surfaces in the room. The staff score is slightly low as I felt we were greeting most of the staff upon entering which isn’t great hospitality and conversations with staff felt like they weren’t very confident in their role.

The layout of the room was great. It was very hot in Melbourne over the weekend and the air conditioning was very good and we couldn’t even tell it was that hot outside. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was a great location for a weekend in Melbourne city. We could walk everywhere we needed to go very easily from this location.

I am looking forward to being able to have a drink or some breakfast at the hotel in the future.

The room was well set up. The bathroom and clothes storage was the best I have had in a hotel. The location is also perfect, trams and trains were only a short walk away when we wanted to visit other suburbs. And despite being so close to Spencer St, I didn’t hear any street noise when in our room.

As usual for hotels, lights were a little confusing.

Great location for trams, restaurants and pubs. Only a short two night stay so limited interaction with staff for checkin, check out and say hello when leaving and returning to the hotel. Room comfortable and quiet. 24 hour reception.

One elevator not working. Didn’t like security-couldn’t get to daughter’s room level one down. Reception too small to fit luggage on hold. No close parking.

Small fixable things. Some minor tweaks to room needed - toilet paper holder loose, ironing board wouldn’t go up properly and light switch to shower was hard to operate (all reported to staff on departure). Will be good when building across the road is completed- bright lights from crane in room all night.

Stayed here for Taylor Swift and it was great. Nice hotel in a great location. Quick walk to the mall and so many places to eat around the area. Very clean and the staff were lovely. Check out was very easy and quick. Definitely recommend. :)

The soft lighting is gorgeous however in the bathroom I struggled to do my makeup, it wasn't bright enough. But that's a minor point.

The Howey is in the perfect location. I will definitely stay there again. The staff were lovely and rooms were great.

Due to being in a quiet alley way where no one else is around & travelling as a woman with a child, we were hesitant to go out too late due to walking back to the hotel & feeling safe. There were no rubbish chutes or rubbish areas for guests to get rid of their rubbish.

The location is soo good! Close proximity to everything in the CBD.

Room cleaning service occured a bit later than expected (after 3.30pm in my case)

Room was compact but smartly designed so it did not feel cramped at all. There were fluffy lounge robes which were perfect for when the AC got too cold. The staff were very helpful when it came to validating parking and keeping my things safe when I had accidentally left them in the room on check out. The location was perfect; so many places to eat and convenience stores nearby. All the major city attractions are within walking distance. Anyone keen for a run can head over to the quay or the tan track less than 1km away. Will stay in the Howey again whenever I'm back in the city.
