What I expected from a YHA. Very easy to find and park. Good location for the main roads across the island, everything was therefore easy to navigate to (Cape Woolamai, winery, penguins). Nice breakfast at the very convenient cafe next-door. Would choose to stay here again.

The dooner on the bed was to thin and the pillows were terrible , we had no access to our kitchen on level two or the tv room it was hired out , this was disappointing, we had to go to level one . A small Fridge in the room would have been nice and the internet is terrible so Netflix didn’t work for us we had to connect via my phone and that will be costly but my some wanted to watch happy feet after visiting the penguins . The rooms also had mozzies we killed 5 with the local brochure lol 😂 but the rooms were clean and the kitchen area is amazing although we opted to eat out due to not being able to use the kitchen on level two .

the details on this website wasn't clear enough for me to understand if the toilet and bathroom were in the room or not. The entire floor had a weird food smell.

The room and bathroom were pretty clean. It's located in the prime location. It was easy to check in even after hours.

The property was perfect, but unfortunately there was a large group of uni students that weren’t very considerate, they basically saw the first floor had their own rather than a shared space. They were very noisy and took up a lot of space in the kitchen. They put on loud music in the eating area before 8am. They placed football in the carpark and using my car to put their drinks and jacket on, that wasn’t very nice. The manger of the hostel, gave access to the kitchen at the second floor to have more relaxing time. We suggest to the manager next time to keep an eye to large groups.

Good location, friendly and professional customer service. Clean and nice bedroom with comfy large mattress and clean bathroom. Nice and clean kitchen and lovely balcony where you can relax your time.

You need a car to get to most places on Philip Island

Great facilities (good kitchen, rooftop balcony, tv room etc.), clean place, parking outside. Plenty of info available for walks etc.

Roof-too terrace closed. No breakfast (was mentioned on Booking.com) No cleaning at all on Saturday even though it was very busy in the hostel. The hostel consists of two levels which are identical - but you can only access the level your room is at. Makes sense but the level I was at had been „taken over“ by a large group (25-30ppl). They were lovely people but as happens with groups they just take over - there was no chance at all for other guests to use the lounge or on Sat evening there wasn‘t even space to sit and have dinner since they needed literally all chairs and desks. I would have loved to have the opportunity to use the other level. I extended a night but the staff on Sunday had no clue how to use the booking system. She couldn‘t even find my existing booking (even though I was checked in) and told me they were fully booked. Then I showed her the availability on Booking.com and I had to make the booking there even though I was at the reception desk and would have loved to give the YHA the chance to save the commission by a direct booking. The staff was lovely but obviously had not training at all. The „fully“ booked hostel turned out to be very quiet that night and I had the 12-bed dorm entirely for myself. These are just notes. No negative feedback as this hostel was one of the best I have stayed at in Victoria.

YHA never lets you down. Good facilities. Big and well-equipped kitchen. Check-In staff (on Friday) was great.

The room is very hot. The fan provided could not help much. The mattress is not very comfortable. We can hear the noise of road traffic in our room.

The wifi signal was not very strong. Some of the heating elements of the stoves in the kitchen didn't work. Power outlet by the bed would be much more convenient.

Lift wasn't working and my partner struggled to use steps after he had a forefoot amputation. Kitchen was also closed on our level and we were required to use next level which we couldn't do as 1 flight of steps was already to much.

Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were very welcoming.
