Bugs on pillows - probably not rented in a while. Mould on doors, verandas and outdoor furniture (acknowledge hard to keep up with with recent weather).

Great property, friendly owner. Pantry basics and toiletries appreciated.

Probably due to the exceptional weather conditions before we arrived we had no WiFi for our entire stay, and phone coverage is, at best, patchy. The house was very musty when we arrived which made me think no one had been in it for some time. It needed airing out. One of the bedrooms smelled damp and I am sure there were spores of something in the pillows. Very strong smell. The couches were THE most uncomfortable I had ever sat in. My husband couldn't sit in them at all as they were so low I wouldn't be able to get him out again. I suffered "welcome pack envy" when I saw the basket of goodies my sister had at her BNB when we were told we had to contribute to anything we used in the pantry! No litter bin in the second bathroom. The recycling bin had not been emptied and was completely full when we arrived. Lock on the back door tricky. I thought I had it mastered by the time we were leaving but I am not sure! On the last morning sprinklers were running to water the garden. As a result there was a very unpleasant smell coming from the septic tank where the water is recycled. Sort of spoiled that last memory of siting outside enjoying the ambience.

My husband is a quadriplegic so I chose Lakehouse Manor because it advertised a disabled bathroom. This was great and made the trip a little easier. That didn't make the rest of the house totally suitable for him, but it wasn't advertised that way so I don't feel I was misled and we managed very well. The situation of the house is just lovely. It is peaceful and sitting out on the deck first thing in the morning with a cup of tea was glorious, and in the evening being serenaded by the frogs was fun. We spent most of our time outdoors as the space was so inviting and the view beautiful. We travelled for a family wedding and it was lovely we could host the recovery breakfast the next morning, with ample space for people to sit and talk, and a decent kitchen to prepare food.

The stove wasn't working properly, it was almost impossible to find simmer, it was just super hot. I have a feeling the stove might need replacing soon it might be faulty? The grease tray under the bbq was full of fat, I didnt like that. But I am very particular about cleanliness.

The view onto the lake, the horses grazing on the hill the frogs croaking in the rainforest. Beds were comfortable. The large covered decks. The house was spacious and homely. I love an old world feel and the house was exactly that. We also loved the views to outside from almost every room in the house. I would highly recommend this place for rest and relaxation.

Some small aspects required maintenance (we changed a lightbulb - bulb provided) and cooking equipment was a bit light on, but sufficed for our needs. If travelling with more than 6 the fridge space and crockery/cutlery provided may be a bit lacking.

The Lakehouse Manor had wonderful character and charm. It's little idiosyncrasies were more than made up for by the handy location and beautiful deck and surrounds. It was a peaceful haven only minutes from Maleny's centre.

The fridge in the kitchen was too small for a house that sleeps 10. The kitchen tap was so loose it felt like it would fall off. The large BBQ was unusable as gas leaked, it obviously hadn't been used for a long time as it was full of cobwebs. Around 6pm each night there was a horrible smell which seemed to be coming from the septic system. We knew there would be no phone signals, but were told the wi-fi was good, but none of us had any connection for the entire weekend, luckily we didn't have an emergency.

We had booked this house for 10 people. The set out of the house was really good. Has a lovely covered balcony down one side & a large undercover area out the back so was really good for our needs. Also a nice flat artificial lawn area so plenty of room to spread out. Indoor fireplace very nice, also a fire pit out the side yard. Plenty of kitchen utensils, plates etc. Beds were comfy & warm.

The furniture while dated was very cozy and comfortable. I would have liked to see pillow and mattress protectors on the beds. The bbq could have done with a bit of a scrub.

The location was beautiful with a glorious outlook. It was a lovely touch that there were basic supplies like tea, coffee, sugar, oil etc and plenty of dishes, glassware and kitchen supplies. The fireplace was lovely and plenty of blankets and hotwater bottles were available. Books, some games and and plenty of homey details. The house was spacious and the deck very lovely and loungy. We would certainly come back again.

It advertised as accessible (Disability) friendly but wasn’t to code. The person with Disability in our party lost independence, relying on others to assist- *no suitable or safe beds, or lounges for a person with mobility issues. *toilet grab rail broken and unsafe (not to code) *The shower was not an open wet room “as advertised” but glassed in, disabled person could not shower for the week. *The ramp and path at entry were not to code. General maintenance was very poor- *Most lights didn’t work *Heat lamp was missing a bulb showing the dirt/grime, open into roof space. *Kitchen cupboard door off hinges, sliding pantry door unusable *Mould on roller blind *microwave cabinet at door rusted to a point in likely allowed leakage of microwaves (unsafe, not to code), *no smoke alarms, not to code *no insect screens of doors or windows (exception being two windows in one bedroom). *one toilet was slow to flush, and both would only full-flush even thought there were signs saying to conserve water. *Broken outdoor wooden dining chairs (unsafe to use), outdoor wooden furniture very weak, not trustworthy. *No door latches to hold open, had to use plant pots/chairs to avoid risk of shattering glass in doors. *fridge shelving broken Cleanliness- * oven unclean, one could scrape grease off the base, it’s stunk when turned on (we had to clean it ourselves in order to use it). *bedding/linen old and unhygienic. *no doona covers, instead they used sheets - one under and one over a dirty old doona. *crockery chipped and unsafe (we threw out two mugs, one when the handle gave way) *windows and windows sills very dusty and unwashed. * mice/rat and cockroach droppings in kitchen cupboards and dressers in bed room. And a piece of our property was chewed on the first night, as was placed into dresser drawers. So we left all out clothing out of drawers and cupboards , instead laying around the rooms.

The back verandah over looking the dam was very enjoyable. And even though run down, the gardens had some lovely flowering plants. The floor plan with open lounge, dinning and kitchen was good. The fireplace worked. Pet friendly (although not fenced, we were able to confine the dog to a reasonable area for play).

Whole place seems tired and in need or some proper cleaning inside and out. Cobwebs on windows outside and inside on ceilings.Nowhere to hang clothes in 2 of the bedrooms. Ceramic hob in kitchen in need of some Cerapol and elbow grease. Did not realise there would be no telephone signal, even Telstra and the Wifi was not available either. Instructions for connection did not “bear fruit “.

Comfortable, warm and cosy beds and house was mostly clean. Plenty of cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. Good off road parking. Large patio area at the back.
