Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe fact that l couldn't visit the hole place on the inside or visit the seller that would have been great
All the surrounding, being away from Adelaide, and reminded me from back home where we use lot's of antique furniture to make rustic houses or rooms. so it felt very comfortable

Australia- Ripoff price paid double the everybody else everybody else paid $170 where I paid $300 how is this possible? - Room was falling to bits, room 5 was leaking water the next morning while our room 6 shower fan was broken, cracks in the ceiling and the noise of the floor with that rattling door. - Was also dirty under the sink needed a good clean as black dust was forming so as the stairway had black dust and the kitchin in places. - Bed was uncomfortable for some people but I have experienced worse beds and this one was passable. - Was a spider in the bathroom above the sliding door. - I also noticed in one room a tv cabnit was missing so the tv was left sitting on the floor in front of the bed (I know South Australia is the poor sh!thole state but come on).
+ Wonderful views of amazing wine / horse territory with wonderful staff who are nice and friendly the office and reception was much better looking then the rooms. + Amazing breakfast, jams where awesome and so was the muffins. + Very spaces so much space

AustraliaBreakfast could have certainly been better for the price, a cooked meal would be nice. We were given stale bread and out of date yogurt in our rooms for breakfast, not to mention the coffee was awful.

AustraliaThe down stairs heating inadequate very cold both tvs had non existent free to air viewing too scrambled bed a bit too firm while they gave you explicit evacuation orders etc there was no plan or route shown in the room. Usually found on the back door. This i find is quite alarming particularly where the manor is located

AustraliaThe property is v tired and needs a major makeover. the stairs are ridiculously steep and it was impossible to take our cars up. It was also so cold when we arrived. they knew the time we arrived it wouldn’t have taken much to turn on the heating which took ages to warm up the property
the location was good

AustraliaWe were so keen to stay here, but found it extremely underwhelming. The accommodation felt like a hotel/motel which lacked the charm and character of the castle itself. It was super over priced in comparison to a cute cottage that would've been half the price for a night's stay. I think with some love and attention to the accommodation, it would be worth the cost. The bed was also uncomfortable. Bad reception - which made it difficult to book transport when leaving the site.
Convenient location in the hills - the surroundings of the wedding / venue area were beautiful.

AustraliaThere was nothing we disliked.
The bed was comfortable. The shower was great. It had a smart TV. Kitchen was well appointed and breakfast provided was excellent. The grounds were interesting and staff were very helpful. A great local hotel providing very good meals was minutes away.

AustraliaUnfortunately we found after 2 days that the fridge had not been plugged in(was on the floor behind fridge) TV was unusable. No signal and would not connect to wifi. Batteries in RC/AC were flat and although we left a note on housekeeping trolley(no one around) we got no response. At 2C an electric blanket would have been nice
Breakfast was great and was nice to find a coffee machine too.

Australia1. Not properly clean - coffee machine had old capsule, cloudy water, towels had fallen into the floor, one towel stained. 2. Very basic furnishings for the price. 3. not a lot of care nor attention to make it feel welcoming. 4. breakfast poorly presented. 5. very unwelcoming “welcome letter” which warns that using your deodorant could cause damage and lead to a fine! Small things could have made it so much better.

FranceThe bathroom sink was blocked and from the first time I used the sink gunk and filth started floating from the blocked drain. Our breakfast package mentioned fresh fruit, unfortunately we received none. For the price that we paid to have a room facing the carpark and fireman’s water tank when the rest of the accommodation was seemingly empty was a shame as the view on the gardens would have been greatly appreciated. I have never complained about an establishment before but sincerely I feel somewhat ripped off after my visit. I have worked in the hospitality industry for 22 years I currently run a successful restaurant in southwest France, I grew up in Mclaren Vale and will never return to this establishment.
Gardens were beautiful.

AustraliaWe didn’t like that there was no one to greet us or ask any further questions. the banister on the upper floor verandah was loose and anyone leaning on it could have fallen. There were rats in the courtyard near the function area. The tasting room was not open even though it was meant to be open. the management missed a great opportunity of making $ as all rooms were booked and everyone had to go out for dinner.
The building promised a wonderful stay.

Australiathe bathroom wasn’t very clean, and I was under the impression there would be a bath. Plus I think the breakfast left something to be desired I would have preferred not to pay the $30 extra for it.

Australiasadly while my wife likes a firm bed I prefer softer and as the saying goes you can only please some of the people some of the time but the sun still comes up in the morning (hopefully) all in all it wasn't really a dislike also the stairs were our choice.
breakfast was good, staff could not have been better, the manager Carl was exceptionally caring with great consideration regarding my wife and my own ability to use the stairs we have stayed in many hotels in Australia and around the world when younger but this guy was so sincere it was home from home
