No staff, just a key in a envelope. Couldn't find anyone to lock bikes up.

    Location, history and beautiful garden.

    Nothing.

It’s an amazing historic building which is a step back in time. Superb value for money, and a great quiet location.

There was quite a big step into the bathroom and the shower was a tiny hip bath. There was no cupboard for clothes and no “kitchenette” as specified- only a kettle and a fridge. There were no local guides to what was open in the room and lots of food places were shut on Monday.

Was a lovely old building but it had some eccentricities.

It was difficult to rate because it is essentially a historic building so some facilities won't be up to modern standards but as a travelling experience it was well worth the stay.

Breakfast was good and because it was in a shared kitchen/dining area, it allowed me to meet some great people. My allocated room was large and breathed history along with the rest of the building.

We didn't mind sharing the bathrooms; however, you are then at the mercy of other guests' cleanliness and leaving the bathrooms in a fit state.

Being an old Prior, it was a great experience. Very good value for the price, and breakfast was even included. The rooms were small but clean and warm. the location was fantastic in relation to everything in the town.

Rooms are very sparse, a side table and lamp would be a good addition.

Good location in town, easy walking distance to shops, restaurants etc. lovely historic building, Plenty of bathrooms (shared). Light breakfast included. Good value for money.

The very early checkout time - in one spot it said 9am and another spot on line said 9.30. Also a hand towel and flannel would have been good. The bath/shower could be tricky for people with some physical issues as you had to step over the side of a hip bath. This should be made clear in the description of the room.

A fabulous old building and a short work to the centre of town.

The simpler room we stayed in was very basic indeed, but this is a feature of the place and part of its charm. I think there are some larger rooms with possibly more facilities. You would not come here for luxury though.

Fascinating old building with lots of character and history. Very central but still in a quiet street. The place has a beautiful garden and is simply interesting to walk around in, with old style furniture and lots of unusual rooms. The shared bathroom ended up being quite good too, and felt almost private. There is also a large shared kitchen and common room in the basement you should be aware of. The staff were friendly in an unobtrusive way. I would go again.

Initially I was unsure about the cleanliness of the hip-bath shower but it turned out to be an optical illusion from the frosted mat placed inside. The hand basin was set back in a very high corner unit that I had to bend across to reach properly. while I loved the look of the old stone steps leading up to the room I think travellers need to be aware of them as they are steepish and uneven.

It is an interesting old building with the room I selected separate and around the back of the main building meaning I could park very close to it rather than out on the beautiful tree lined street. The miner’s cottage 2 was definitely quirky and made for a great first night of my journey. I could leave my door open and be serenaded by bird song which delighted me. The bathroom was up a couple of steps and had the shower inside a round hip bath.

We were in one of the "nuns cells" , not what i was expecting from looking at the pictures when booking it. Not many modern facilities, no TVs anywhere in the building (which was OK for us but may not be for some people), room was hot- we did have a fan but it just circulated the hot air as we couldn't open the window due to no gauze and a hornets nest up in the corner of the window, shared bathrooms which were nice upstairs but unfortunately other people are grubs leaving piles of wet towels on the floor and communal bath mats which were soaked, a small mirror in each room would be nice.

Lovely old building steeped in history. Interesting nights stay, especially since we were going on a ghost tour that nice.Beds comfy. The continental breakfast was nice. The location is great, just a short walk to the main street.

A little weird with no one on site. Probably needs a little bit of attention. Breakfast a little confusing. Was everything in the fridge available for us to use?
