Absolutely nothing to dislike about this hotel.

Firstly, Fiona was absolutely amazing! Letting us check in at a late hour and the room was already nice and cooled down when we got there. Gorgeous room with a lovely bath room. The water pressure was elite. 100% recommend staying!! We will definitely be back :)

Not really anything negative to say. A towel hook would have been handy in the bathroom. The complementary milk was out of date by three weeks which I only discovered after I ate a spoonful of my cereal. But that’s just basic human error not really a complaint.

Modern, clean room. Friendly owner and night manager. Excellent water pressure in shower. Room well fitted out.

Just the TV not working as above.

It was an historic old hotel built in 1888 which is no longer licenced and instead operates with modern upstairs accommodation. The rooms we had were large and spotless. The manager Fiona was such a friendly person who was only too willing to help with anything. And Fiona contacted us after we left to tell us that she found $20 on the floor and how could she return it? The only negative to our stay was that the TV wasn't working, but that was because a severe electrical storm a couple of days earlier had taken all the TV's out and Fiona was waiting for a man to come and fix it. A minor inconvenience overall.

They will serve whatever meals you want at time that suits which is great as being in a small town not alot of options for food especially over holiday period. Rooms are well kept and bathrooms have been updated.

We didn't eat there as we had to leave very early. In phone calls prior to arrival, plus when we arrived I can't speak too highly of Andrew. He was very welcoming and made sure we were aware of options. Andrew also showed an interest in finding out about where were from, so he could pass on to other travellers if they were going there. He also made sure he informed us about the time it would us from Tamworth and to be aware of the kangaroo danger in the evening.

    A little road noise.

Andrew was a hoot. Great kerbside twilight dinner ($40 each for an excellent steak) followed by some movie exerts in his private theatre.

The character of the building and the host were exceptional. There's a cinema in the Playhouse and an owner who's forgotten more about film than I'll ever know. The room was clean, with a fantastic shower. Food from the Playhouse was also great. Highly recommended for anyone passing through the area.
