The only annoyance for us was the noise of the Sunday crowds, which is unavoidable.

The Richmond Arms is a charming hotel right in the middle of a charming town. Our accomodation was out the back in The Stables: which have been renovated and are very modern and comfortable. The pub itself has a ‘genuine’ old pub atmosphere: old wood and ornaments, but with typical pub furnishings. We arrived on a Sunday to find the pub very busy and the staff, although friendly were rushed off their feet. The Monday was a very different experience, relaxed. We enjoyed our dinners here, which were hearty and reasonably priced.

No option for breakfast at the accommodation. I believe a cold continental option available at check in wouldn’t be to hard to organise. But there are breakfast options in town if you’re not looking too early.

Location was vgood. Richmond is a great spot. room in the stable was bigger and better than expected being just newly renovated . Had a good pub dinner at the hotel. Would recommend and stay here again.

The only downside was that I couldn't sleep in the double bed due to intermittent noise from the pubs fridge or freezer. The noise wasn't excessive, but I am a light sleeper.

I just needed a room for the night after a late flight. The room was pleasant, clean and conveniently located for a quick walk around the town in the morning before heading off to port Arthur. The bed was very comfortable.

unfortunately right outside our bedroom, ground floor ( Gin ) the motor for a commercial refrigerator cycled on and off all night, quite noisy considering the town itself was quiet. People travelling with us in the twin bed room opposite corner said they did not hear it 🥴

The locks in the bathroom were broken and the couch was quite badly stained and a little unappealing. It would have been great to have a microwave in the room.

The rooms were good sizes and the location was excellent.

There was a problem with the shower pressure and heat. not sure if it was the workman onsite or other guests.

The carpet was a little worn at the entry. The external door to the corridor leading to the stairs was wedged open with an outdoor mat to prevent it closing- maybe the door hardware needs to be upgraded (??).

The location is excellent, and the hotel offers car parking to visitors. The room is spacious. The shower was hot. There were extra blankets for chilly evenings.

Couldn't sit up in bed because of where the bed was situated in the room. Limited room in the bathroom.

Shared bathroom and toilet, but I knew this before I booked. Never tried this before, not for me , more suitable for backpackers. Stair access can be difficult up and down, still good value for money.

Carpet in room should be replaced or steamed cleaned, door draft stoppers (snakes ) for cold nights. Staff friendly and helpful

Lounge and chair needs a steam clean. Nowhere to put your clothes or hang up your towels in the bathroom. A microwave oven would have been handy. The 4 units in the stable are not defined on the website so you can end up with any of them. Some are not as nice as nice as the others. You may not get the apartment in the picture when you book. That was the case with my booking. They did rectify it for us luckily when we arrived.

Excellent value for money. Room was huge and super clean. Its an old hotel and yes the floors squeak as you go to the bathroom but it didnt bother us. Never saw another guest so felt we had the bathroom to ourselves. Lovely meals at the restaurant down stairs. Staff were lovely and super helpful.

Relatively handy to airport. Lots to do and see in Richmond. Enormous meal at hotel - and I was hungry but didn't manage to get thru it. Comfy bed.
