The staff and service provided was exceptional. I had contacted the property wanting to have roses on the bed and a bottle of champagne. The staff were super helpful in doing this for me and allowed me to write a card and wrote my partner a card too. Even the presentation of the roses and champagne was stunning. They also upgraded our room for free, was such an amazing experience, will definitely stay there again.

Having to move rooms late at night due to the horrible humming/ vibrating noise in room 123. Hope the management rectify this.before letting it again. Hats off to Tatania the night receptionist who came up, listened, agreed it was unacceptable and within 20 minutes had prepared another room and moved us. Top-class customer service from Tatania. Food in the restaurant Saturday evening was ordinary, it appeared to be pre-prepared, warmed-up with a few added garnishes- hardly home- cooked as advertised.

Stay at the sands quite regularly. Have noticed a decline in cleanliness. Shower not cleaned properly. Leftover hairs from previous guests on walls and floors. Also the blinds covered in dead bugs. Fly screens broken. Windows dirty.

Close proximity to everything in Torquay. Golf facilities. Restaurant attached. Beach a five minute walk.

The bathroom could have used a deep clean as there was pink mold and hair in the shower before I even got to use it. It was also quite noisy - whilst in bed trying to sleep, we could hear doors in the hallway opening and closing, along with random noises during the night (suspect old pipes or buzzing).

It’s in a great location and has all the essentials.

Rather busier than we would have preferred - however this is a high-end facility, as well as non-resident golfers around. Some rather unruly children around the outside area - despite signs urging parents to manage/control ! - meant we left to go elsewhere. A little too far 'out of town' to walk.

All facilities very well appointed, huge car park (which was needed!), large bar/dining options. Very friendly staff at check in - made good suggestions for trip into town centre and places to eat.

Would have rated this place a solid 8/10 however the shower curtain in the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Was moulding and smelt terrible.

The pool area was a bit dirty- I guess from people wearing shoes. We also went to eat at the restaurant after looking at the menu but we didn’t end up staying as it was lacking in atmosphere and friendly customer service. We’re glad we did as the restaurant we went to in Torquay was great. The hotel is a bit further from the centre of Torquay than we expected, but the reception staff were helpful with advice about parking etc.

The room was lovely, nicely designed, loved bathroom with great toiletries. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
