How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Overall the hotel was great and anything negative would be nitpicking.
The rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good and very busy, needs constant attention to be cleaned and tidy. Its connection to the Twin Towns Club was very good for the additional facilitites the club offers.

The bathroom door was heavy and overall lighting needs a rethink. The pool needs some TLC. Parking spaces are somewhat narrow. Our stay coincided with work being done on nearby footpaths, so it was a bit noisy - too noisy to use the balcony.
Great location & breakfast. The room was large enough. The staff we interacted with were polite and helpful.

The automatic coffee machine in the breakfast area makes awful coffee. Paying for decent coffee seems a shame when breakfast is so lovely

nothing other than leaving
Our room was booked at the last minute, we had a twin room, but that didn't worry us. The whole experience was excellent, a very efficient check in, the room was spotless with excellent facilities. Not to mention the view, was of Coolangatta beach (all be it at a bit of a distance). The room was very comfortable, with easy access to Twin Towns Club. The rate may appear high, but free parking and breakfast for both of us, and the above, I believe it is good value for money.

room was on level one (room 123) and the view is of the back of twin towns club and some concrete rooves. Accessible bathroom so only a shower curtain, no under sink storage and only 1 small towel rail and 2 hooks which is silly as room accommodates 4 people... nowhere to put clothing while you shower as toilet is set up for disabled use and has no seat cover that you can close. Volume on tv not loud enough while watching some programs and very loud for others.
great size room, comfy beds, big screen tv with foxtel, microwave, crockery. Connected to twin towns club so plenty of places to dine and no need to get wet. Excellent location 1 street from beach. Having a clothes airer was handy. Breakfast included had plenty of choices and chefs made yummy omelettes to order. Position was excellent.... short walk to 5 or 6 different beaches.

One of the spas had some green algae on the tiles. The bar didn’t say open pass 6.30 pm.

Room was great, but bed gave us sore backs this stay. Most rooms are great and very comfortable, so have rarely had this problem. Otherwise, no complaints.
Twin Towns is in an excellent location that is basically handy to everything in Coolangatta, including great beaches (Greenmount and Rainbow Bay) within walking distance. It has good facilities and is attached to an entertainment precinct and restaurants/cafes. We had an ocean 'glimpse' this stay, but normally have a good sea view and generally pleasant outlook over the hills and across to Surfers Paradise. Room had large TV and Foxtel.

We were bottom level and had the view of the top of a roof right from our balcony so that wasn't ideal. But the room itself was excellent.
Breakfast was insane, best brekky with every option under the sun. Room was spacious and lovely. Staff helpful.

Buffet breakfast was amazing, we stayed over Christmas and was great value for money especially having the breaky included. We stayed in a 1 bedroom which was plenty of room for a family. staff happily set up fold up beds. Coolangatta beach was the closest beach and an easy walk
