How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It was a little dirty & the beds were not the most comfortable but that is typical with most hostels

- seems like the mattress was as old as the building - no glass or cups in the kitchen - would be better with curtains (because the blinds let the entire sunlight in) - room n°1 is really loud as it is next to the entrance

Was here a night and was okay, a bit loud as quite a social place and i was up super early for a flight but for a few days to base in Bondi I would recommend.

Bunk bed was small and hard to climb, couldn’t sit up on the bottom bunk. Due to bathroom design shower water would often leak into the room. Noisy wannabe boy band upstairs.
Short walk down to bondi beach, lots of food options nearby. Easy to check in and access the hostel with the app. Bus stop nearby so can reach the centre easily

The room was a bit tiny.
The hostel location is great, buses around and shops. Key system make it easy and rooms are clean. Private bathroom is handful and washing machine are available downstairs.

Cheating by promoting a 15 sqm sized room while giving a microscopic (about) 8,8 sqm room. TWICE (!), even for different type of rooms. Polluting single-use packaging used, promotion of plastic single-use items, little care for the environment. Too small luggage deposit.

The en-suite is tiny but we were only two people so absolutely fine for our needs.
The location is amazing!! Literally two minutes walk from Bondi Beach and public transport is amazing so can easily get around the city. Our bathroom was cleaned most days and the bin in our room emptied regularly too! We attended the BBQ on Friday which was lovely. The staff were super helpful!

The reception door at the front when closed was hard to tell if it was reception as the door next to it was the entrance door and it looked like a cleaners storage door. It made it hard to tell where to check in. I did not notice the little “reception back in a moment” sign that was displayed among lots of graffiti and notice papers of other events going on in the area
PowerPoint station near my bed. I was top bunk and glad to see one close to my station. Also the facilities available in the hostel were very helpful. This hostel also offered comfortable sheets and towels Thankyou so much!

You had to download an app, wich didn’t always work for everyone and was an extra more difficult step than a key card.

There was a lot of damp in the room and the toilet wa smaller than a plane WC. The kitchen and the dinning room were in the basement so everything was dark and smalled even more musty to point that everyone cooked in the kitcheb and went upstairs to eat on the outside benches

Not cleaned properly with empty beer bottles and tissues down side of bed and very dusty. Also lots of small flies in private bathroom and some other cockroach like insects found in the room. Private room was also very small and we supposedly had the biggest room.

Bathroom's were very small and basic as was the room, but it had everything that was needed. It was slightly loud and muggy (hot inside) however it was not too bad or intolerable.
Location was excellent. There was a large common area at the front of the hostel. There was also shared kitchen and laundry facilities.
