How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Bathrooms were really dirty !
Carlos at the reception was super great and friendly ! We enjoyed spending time chatting and laughing with him !

You need an app to get into any room (including bathrooms). It takes forever to open a door and it's just a bit annoying, especially if you just want to go to the toilet in the middle of the night.
Big kitchen and really nice common area. Beds have curtains which is always great in a hostel. Bathrooms are clean.

Kitchen is a bit dirty.
Convenient location, can walk to the city, or you can also walk to the nearby tram station. Dorms were neat, and other guests were respectful of the space, comfortable and quiet place to have a nice rest.

Good location, near to the tram stop and the Queen Elizabeth Market. The private room for 2 was comfy and clean. The share room is big and have a lot of table and chair for work or just standing there. The kitchen is full of all you need to cook but sometimes not too clean.

The kitchen was a bit chaotic and everyone’s food could be stored better which made it feel more messy/unclean. Showered and toilets didn’t always feel clean at times.
How modern and spacious it was. Also the great to have curtains on the beds. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

the curtain each bed need to fix for privacy. The toilet need to clean more often would be great! but anyway I enjoy to stay here!
Location and full of facilities, they have a super bug kitchen that enough for all member The bed is comfy with two pillows.

The common space are not always clean since many people stay and use it, but dont clean it properly after use. Staff members use to clean the common space once a day (in the evening). It could be loud in the hallway and in the common space w many people stay there. The Hostel should set clearer and stricter rules or etiquettes for the common rooms/space to keep those area clean and more comfortable for all guests. The beds are a lil bit uncomfortable especially If you got one of the bed on the top cause the stairs to clime up is small . (You can pay extra for the lower beds.)
Good stay for short travels. Quick online Check-in process. Big terrace and many common spaces.

The cleanliness of the bathrooms, it wasn’t clean, there was soap everywhere but also dirt and a lot of hair… the bathrooms were bigs and greats but to dirty…
The rooftop first, the view was really nice! But also I really appreciated the idea of the curtains in the bed, it gives more privacy, so really its a great idea. I also really liked the “chilling place” in the ground floor, i think that the decoration really matches the vibe of the village, and it was also so comfy.

The rooftop closes very early, some bathrooms lacked of cleanliness and when they were doing housekeeping they didn’t take all the cups and trash with them for days, even before we arrived. The kitchen was a real mess, dirty dishes everywhere that stayed on a pile for the whole day. They could try to put more plugs inside the rooms too.
The beds and the common places were really confortable, the kitchen was big too. Good location.

Room could have been more clean (room floor, bathroom), limited space in fridges on the common kitchen Despite being a hostel organizing some social activities, it felt like more people are living there for a long time making it difficult to socialize when only staying a few days

The prices have massively gone up since they first opened, most likely due to all the positive reviews. This makes it very difficult for travellers who wish to stay in the hostel for longer periods of time, not much customer loyalty taken into consideration by management and thus more focus on short term stays. Also, having to take your phone with you to open the bathroom was so annoying, particularly as there was nowhere to leave it when having a shower.
Number 1 choice for a hostel in Melbourne! This hostel is perfect if you’re looking for comfort and a more ‘mature’ crowd (ie. if you’re looking for party and young travellers then head to The Village CBD instead). The beds are super comfy, there’s plenty of nice common areas and the views from the rooftop are unbeatable! Particular shoutout to Pedro and his team for all the good vibes and making the place feel like home <3
