How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. We were not there long enough !
Supplied our own breakfast, but plenty of condiments available ! Not right in town but that was good as central Lakes Entrance has constant traffic.

The hosts were amazing and were taking us through each and every both of the property to settle us down. They also accommodated our requests to be in the pool a little late. It was an amazing experience and I will be back here.

there was only 2 bedrooms and 3 adults needed to share the room. Lucky being sisters there wasn't a problem. My fault I should have checked better.
The house and the stay was enjoyable, it was clean, tidy and had everything we might need. Beds were very comfortable.

The hosts were wonderful. They have provided everything you need to stay a night or for a longer period of time. We were able to wash clothes while we swam in the pool. We only stayed one night but if we were to stay longer in the area we would definitely choose this accommodation again.

The hosts were an absolutely lovely couple and despite is being delayed in our arrival they were very accommodating and friendly staying up to greet us, hand over the keys and explain everything. In the morning the host even got out of bed to uncover the pool so that I may take a morning swim. It was only a quick overnight stay but was pleasant.

There is nothing to do not like.This place was very tidy and clean.Very well appointed and equip.Al appliance where in perfect working order.
This place is perfect for relaxing and having good time.Owners are friendly and very helpful with everything.A swimming pool is excellent.We will be back because this place is marvelous.

The second bedroom was quite dark, and could do with the single bed being removed so that the wardrobes are more accessible.
Darrell and Maria were lovely and very hospitable. We loved having everything we needed in the house. The pool and BBQ were great and we enjoyed being within arm’s reach of Lakes without being right in the craziness.

Stuffy smell in the second bedroom including the attached toilet but managed well running air conditioner.
Hosts were great and all the facilities were well equipped. The heated pool was really a fun place for the kids.

It would be pedantic to pick faults, as it is as advertised.
In terms of self-catering accommodation for a family at an economical price, Traplin's would be very hard to beat. Big enough to spread out and has a fully equipped working kitchen. The exclusive availability of a good-sized private pool and spacious barbecue area was a real bonus. Very friendly and accessible hosts. It's not a brand new 5-star resort but with grandkids in tow, that was probably a blessing.

Bedroom was a little cramped with bunks, a single bed and a queen bed in the same room. Property was a little way out of town - needed a car to get around..
Well equipped kitchen. with dishwasher, microwave,, stove refrigerator. Very quiet location. Beds were very comfortable. Heated outdoor pool was clean and perfect for an afternoon dip with pool toys, banana lounges and shower.

It was excellent. Every amenity was provided. Best of all I rate Darrell and Maria as way up there for being the best hosts I have had in 50 years. I totally recommend them and will be back. Next time I will stay for longer. Last week was just a spur of the moment as wife and I had Saturday and Sunday off work and daughter no school.

For us it was absolutely great, but for multiple people with kids, it could be a bit small.
Accommodation was exactly as advertised and worked well for what we needed. D Nd M were friendly and helpful. There is a lovely heated pool and outdoor area for use. Also dog friendly. I will be back at some stage.
