How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Property is very outdated and needs an upgrade. Oven didn’t work very well.
Good location not far from centre which is easily accessible by a bus stop right outside the apartment. 5-10 minute walk to water front. We had an issue with no hot water and within 5 minutes of contacting them Warren arrived at our room to fix the issue.

Tiny bit of street noise at night, however we did have a room right near the front and main road. Nothing that would keep you up at night but.
Huge rooms and very comfy beds! Everything you need with a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher.

Not knowing the area I thought it may have been a bit closer to a supermarket or some cafes/restaurants for dinner we were only staying one night to get a connecting flight. We ended up using Uber for deliver.
Apartment was very spacious with great cooling and space. Host was very friendly, overall a good experience. Beds were comfortable and apartment was secure.

We were stuck in Cairns due to the floods, and the manager was very accommodating. The apartment was comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed. I'll definitely be back.

The beds are a little too hard for my liking. But everything is great.
The apartments are very roomy for a family, very clean, air conditioning works great for Cairns hot weather. Very relaxing to sit on the balcony and the pool area is also lovely and clean.

Friendly and helpful staff. Pool was nice. Room clean and great that it had a full kitchen and laundry however it did not have a good frying pan so making eggs in the morning was tough. Otherwise decent location. Bus stop was very close to get downtown etc.

Exceptionally clean, bright, spacious, and comfortable apartment with perfect in room facilities for our long stay. All of the staff (including the cleaners) were friendly and very accommodating to our needs. The location was perfect for us with a short walk to The Esplanade, Hospital and Cafe's, etc. Thank you again for your amazing hospitality.

The appliance (old stove top) but it all worked very well with no issues. Disappointing that foxtel was not working but was advertised. There was only one channel of 10 channels that worked and this was the boring discovery channel. Everyone wants to watch movies. Really bad wifi - my mobile phone would log in but then after a minute would get logged out even while I was still using the wifi. I had to keep logging in and it was very annoying. I could not connect to the wifi with my laptop which was annoying because I was going to complete some work.
I liked the staff and the cleanliness of the unit as well as the balcony. Quiet location and rooms. Bus stop just outside the complex and 25 minute walking distance to the central Caines which I liked because I like walking.
