nothing our fridge didn’t work well with the heat though! the drive on the unsurfaced road was tricky in places

it was a sanctuary. restful, luxurious, a place for watching nature. no one came to see us or bother us. a retreat

We loved everything about the place. The area was surrounded in the perfect spot for serenity purposes. It's good to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city areas and come here for some well needed relaxation.

Fantastic place to stay to be close to nature and away from city. The glamping tent is well equipped and really enjoyed the barbecue facilities available.

dirt road to Turon, too many bugs creeping in to bathroom (dunno how so), mentioned nearby town Rylstone as charming (there’s nothing there)

Absolutely loved the sceneries, views and the facilities. We did horse riding, kayaking as well to top up the experience in Turon Gate. As you drive in the property you will see roos and goats. Just amazing.

The uncut roads to get into the property from castlereagh highway and to go further to the campings grounds were a challenge to drive on, even with SUV’s. I definitely wouldn’t recommend driving a small car like sedan or hatchback to come here.

We loved the location of our cabin, ‘Serenity’. We were perched on top of the mountain, and the views were incredible. You could see the tablelands all across in front of our verandah, & the blue mountains haze on the right. So many kangaroos everywhere! And lots of birds. The cabin was solar powered; there’s no microwave; the gas oven was enough to warm things up. The highlight of our trip was interacting with the horse herd on the ground. It was a rainy muddy day & the property’s horse herd were wandering around the glamping & campgrounds. Their horses are so friendly & calm, it made our trip! This is a pet friendly property- and the cabin we were in was definitely built for it- there is a large secure verandah at the back, & our big husky was happy to laze on that watching the world go by. Make sure to bring your own beds, bowls etc for it. At this time of year, we were lucky not to see any snakes. But come prepared- there is no animal emergency hospital nearby. Closest one is 2 hours away.

The most picturesque place, full of incredible nature and wildlife. The cabin is very cosy and has a lovely design.

Staying at Turon Gates to visit the nearby Capertee Valley for birdwatching. Loved the place. Beautiful setting on a peaceful river and Gang-Gang Cuckatoos right outside the cabin ! We also saw hundreds of Kangaroos nearby from the road leading to our cabin ! The cabin was spacious and very confortable. Excellent place for the money.

The air conditioner wasn’t working.. not sure if this is a problem because of the electricity running off solar power or not.

Although it was nice to see the horse roaming around on a daily basis, it wasn't pleasant to be surrounded by some much horse poo. Taking daily walks were a bit difficult as we had to constantly make sure we didn't step on any poo.

The atmosphere was amazing. Very peaceful being surrounded by nature. The tent was very nice and well equipped.

The couch was a little warn and sunken in places. I expected spiders, it being in the bush, but I do have a phobia, so the appearance of a huge huntsman on the last night freaked me out a bit (I know there’s not much you can do about that though :-). )

It was so quiet and tranquil. The wood heater kept the cabin wonderfully warm. Everything you need is there. The bed was very comfortable and the spa was a real treat.

The cold weather

The log cabin 5 had all the facilities we needed for the trip, along with a fire place that kept us warm and the bed was super comfortable with enough to keep us warm.
