Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere is a 200 dollar bond which is a joke and they don’t tell you tell you pay for the room. The 29/30 bar was closed on a Saturday and they make you line up as if want to sit and dine for dinner near a pool. It’s a waste of time using the hotel facilities.

AustraliaLimited parking. Hotel parking was booked out so we had to park at nearby parking station and walk with luggage. Swimming pool on top level very small. There were heaps of kids jumping around so not enjoyable for the small size. Tiles in swimming area VERY SLIPPERY. Witnessed several people slip over. Not enough seating. No shopping in the area which was disappointing. Had to walk to Westfield.
The bed was comfy. Our room had a great view of Darling Harbour. The bar area was great. Great outlook to Darling harbour. Excellent location in Darling Harbour. Walking distance to heaps of restaurants.

AustraliaAlthough the mini bar look so beautiful, it's uncomfortable to use for family travel, and the faculties in bathroom is broken everywhere when I used, for example: the left hand tap ware at bathtub is fell off, the tap ware right hand side of shower is fell off, it's really unacceptable for new hotel?
I like the view of hotel and the design

AustraliaThe hotel in general has a very tacky vibe. Upon arrival we had to wait for over two hours to get access to our room despite the check in time being quite late at 3pm. We didn’t get a key till about 6pm. The hotel in general is awfully dark with very bold striking colours that don’t necessarily go with a prestigious five star hotel. Would not stay here again as it has a bad vibe. Whilst the rooms were fairly clean, there was a funny smell throughout the whole hotel even though it was fairly new, the lights switches in the room were very difficult to use, And some of the taps did not work. It was also very very expensive for what it was, the stay per night and the valet parking were ridiculously priced given that we couldn’t even check in till 6pm.
The property location is very good to see sites in Sydney.

AustraliaAir con was impossible to get right, too hot or too cold and always blowing even on low fan. Very allergic room with no fresh air possible. Unfortunately this detracted from our stay a lot as we were physically very uncomfortable, if not a little unwell by the end despite taking anti-histamines. Check-in experience was not great. A 3pm check-in is already cheeky since 1 or 2pm is a standard around the world. It leaves an impression of being slack or indifferent to guests. I knew this but arrived 1 hour early on the chance I could get into my room. I queued for some time, then they happily took my money in advance, THEN told me the room was unavailable. I asked for a call when it was ready which never came. I had to line up again at 3pm, half expecting it still not to be ready, but fortunately it was. Rather a bad first impression. To be fair, after this initial experience the service did meet standards. But I don't expect to queue once let alone twice when I'm paying $400+ a night. All the switches in the room could be annoying. Lights/power etc had no tactile feedback, just touch and pray, so it was difficult to operate things like the power sockets or automated blinds in the night. The blind switches next to the bed needed to be held down for 30 seconds to close or open, an annoying task in the dark when you can't even feel that your finger is on the switch. Then you still needed to get up to close the last bit yourself so what's the point of technology if it doesn't save you time and effort? I also left a phone on charge overnight only to find it had not charged at all again due to a power switch with invisible status! (who designs this stuff and makes it worse than what we already had?)
Location and rooms were impressive. I think we were upgraded to an end room on a high floor which had 270 degree views more or less. The size of these rooms was a nice surprise. The design was very good and mostly well thought out. Generally a cut above other hotels in the area albeit at Sydney's super high prices. Casting to the TV was a little fussy but at least the capability was there.

AustraliaThe light switches in the room were a little fiddly. They were the sensor touch version and although seemed quite cool, functionally was a bit of a pain as there was no tactile feedback to indicate if you had pressed correctly or not. My husband gave up at one point and used the toilet in the dark :)
We stayed in a 2 bedroom with our family of 4. Very happy with the size and amenities provided in the room. Had a beautiful view of the harbour. Had some trouble with the tv and iron but that was quickly fixed/replaced. The kitchen was impressive with all the necessary utensils, plates and cooking implements. There was a coffee machine, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. Didn't use the oven :) But the microwave was very handy. Location is great as it's right on Darling Harbour and short walks to Chinatown and Darling Square. The staff we encountered were all really lovely and helpful.
