There was nothing that we did not like. Our room, although quite dated, had everything we required. Everything was in working order, the room was a good size and the views from the room's balcony were amazing. Apparently there are plans to renovate the rooms and this would only make future stays even more enjoyable.

Dhea and Nicolas were excellent, friendly and informative hosts. Their lovable dog Lloyd kept us amused. We chose The River Suites and the Samphire Restaurant to stay at to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. The breakfast was a superior continental style - everything was fresh and plentiful. The coffee was excellent. The views from the balcony of our room and the restaurant were stunning. The 7 course degustation meal was exceptional. We enjoyed our 4 day stay at American River, experiencing all the Town and surrounds had to offer.

The view was amazing and close proximity to the lake. We were greeted on arrival as if we were family coming to stay. The breakfast was included and we were invited into the owner’s beautiful dining room which was floor to ceiling windows amazing

Providing a highchair and cot for future guests with infants would be appreciated.

The team were so friendly and the coffee and breakfast was very much appreciated! Thanks for being so welcoming to our baby! The view from our room was beautiful and such a central location to lots of places on the island.

Our stay at the River suites was very comfortable. The hosts were super friendly. A beautiful young couple. The place is a little old, but very clean and comfortable. The owners are planning to renovate the place this year. I wish them all the best!

The accommodation basically needs a coat of paint and new carpets. Hand rails from accommodation to the upstairs restaurant/breakfast area unstable and need replacing for safety reasons, as do the steps up to the restaurant/breakfast area, some rotting and need replacement - again for safety. The accommodation is on top of a very steep hill, lots of loose gravel on the road when parking the car and walking on to the road to access the accommodation, making it very difficult for anyone with a disability, who definitely would need to have room service only. I think the owners are new and are probably in the process of updating and maintaining the property, so good for them, as it's the most beautiful place.

We loved the view from our room, which all of the rooms had, and the view from the restaurant/breakfast area was magnificent. Lots of room, well furnished with a good hot water supply.

The rooms were a little tired looking.

The owners are lovely people. Very helpful and willing to share their local knowledge. Breakfast was delicious. And due the number of rooms the dining room never felt full. The dining room itself is a very welcoming space with plenty of natural light and beautiful views. Room was spotless and comfortable. Because of the position of the accommodation every room has a river view.

Very nice and cosy, great little rooms with a lovely view of the river/ocean. Owners were super lovely and there was cute doggy to great you (if he was in the mood to). Super lovely breakfast with home made bread and jams. Be prepared for a stepp hill climb tho.

We loved everything about the stay.

Comfortable and well positioned room in the facility. The wonderful owners could not have been more helpful. They organised for us to charge the EV overnight given the island is still coming up to speed for the EV world. The degustation local seafood meal was absolutely superb and the breakfasts were fantastic.

Amazing location and great service! Would highly recommend! Rooms are spacious and overlook the water, you are surrounded by nature. Around the accommodation there are a couple of trails you can walk along, and a couple of really good hotels. The owner was extremely cordial and even helped us look for the koala which is usually around the hotel. Highly recommend this stay for any relax!

Everything was good but the pillow was a little bit too hard for our liking.

The staff was really nice and friendly. We asked for help a few times getting around the island and he was more than happy to help and give us lots of information. The breakfast was very nice and he even made fresh barista coffee for us. The room was big and had everything you need.

The location is beautiful. The rooms were very comfortable and had a wonderful view. We had dinner in our room. Excellent food and Nico owner and chef offered this service despite having an evening where he was serving a 7 course meal to a full restaurant. The breakfast was also excellent and was included in the room price. Lots of delicious homemade produce and fresh food. Would not hesitate to recommend this place. It is a family run business and they could not do more to make us welcome or to advise on places to visit and eat on the island. Hope to come again.
