Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere is probably a case that the owners could allow restricted day visiting as it seems a shame more people cannot enjoy the wetland. Probably the biggest thing I would change would be to open the tracks aroiund the wetland. A track that was previously in use around the wetland is now closed which is a pity. Allowing visitors to use the track around the wetland would further enhance what was already a great experience.
For us this was a fantastic experience. I was birdwatching through Queensland and this accommodation is in effect in the middle of a top quality wetland reserve. There are only three units in this private wetland and when we stayed we were the only people there. The units were excellent and the owners provided an excellent basket with fresh bread, eggs, coffee etc. The guests have the full use of what must have previously been the wetland reception area and it has a fully fitted, top quality kitchen. It was a surreal experience staying for three days on our own in a top quality wetland but an unforgetable one.

AustraliaNothing! I suppose just be aware that there is only one short walk available along the wetlands, so don't expect to be able to explore a lot. It's more of a place to relax and unwind.
We really enjoyed our one night stay here. The instructions to get to the property were very clear prior to arriving so made it easy to check in. The accommodation was super comfy and shower was great! Was also nice to have breakfast ingredients like bread, jam and eggs offered! The kitchen also had everything we needed.

AustraliaHaving visited the wetlands many times and walked around the water we were disappointed to discover this is no longer possible. No bush walks at all!
Very clean tents in the bush. Wonderfully quiet as we had the place to ourselves. The use of the visitor centre is great to enjoy water sunsets.

This location is the most gorgeous place we stayed in Australia so far. The scenery is great and there is lots of chances to spot cool animals, including some Kangaroos who were in front of our tent :) We had the place all to ourselves which was unbelievable and felt really special to be in such a gorgeous spot all alone. Would definitely recommend this and if you are not a camping type of person don’t worry, it is luxerious beds with all facilities in place :)

AustraliaAll good. Although reception was not open, there was prior communication about arrangements, so it was no problem checking in.
The setting of the accommodation in a large wetlands is amazing. This is situated miles away from any civilisation. It is possible to sit, relax and watch the birdlife. The "glamping tents" have all the facilities you would in a normal cabin. The lodge building has an industrial level kitchen with all of the appliances and cookware you would need. There is ample room in the dining hall. While having dinner you have the full view of the wetlands laid out in front of you. A well-stocked breakfast hamper is provided. Best of all, we had the whole place to ourselves.

AustraliaNothing to not like.
Breakfast provisions were provided. We had full use of the fully equipped kitchen in the lodge which is separate from the Glamping tents. The Lodge was ours to use for the stay. We went as a group, so we had the place to ourselves which made the stay even more enjoyable. the deck of the lodge is just a few meters from the edge of the water, birdwatching was fabulous. Relaxation was premium. Friendship, birdwatching and photography were the orders of the day.

AustraliaNo signage for finding the gecko sculpture with its vital message of conservation .
Spectacular natural place, wonderfully quiet , hundreds of species of birds . A rare find so vital for conservation and so good to see that greed for profit has not meant overloading this natural place with non caring human habitation.

AustraliaWe really did not dislike anything. Maybe the weather as it was raining, and it never rains in Mareeba, ha ha
The location was great close to Cairns, there was not too many people which we like, clean and very tidy we will differently stay again. I think if we read the paperwork, it would have helped, we found out about the kitchen in the lodge later. which was our fault.

United KingdomHaving less opportunity for going on walks that had been available previously.
The glamping cabin tents were exceptional and hosts very helpful. Its a peaceful location. We had hoped to explore more on foot, but with the conservation projects around, areas available for walking opportunities were limited. Hopefully, this might extend in the future. However, we would certainly look to return when the opportunity arises and thank the hosts for all they do.

AustraliaIt was a long drive into the property which we didn't expect, but that adds to the charm of it being quiet and isolated. Plenty of wildlife was seen on the way in.
The location was peaceful and very quiet with only 2 other groups staying on the property. Facilities were excellent: clean BBQ and kitchen area, comfortable beds and bedding, spacious room and bathroom area was just right. Complimetary breakfast items off eggs, breads and jams were provided in the rooms to cook yourself which was a pleasant surprise, as well as fridge and a kettle for a cuppa. We loved having a look out at the lake and spotting the birds and we also enjoyed a bit of a night walk using the BEST torches we have ever used. We had a brilliant view of the stars. Wifi was available in the main building and data service was good around the property. We stayed just one night and it was lovely. Thanks for having us.

New ZealandThe long drive from the main road on an in-sealed road was a bit concerning but like it says in the info… it was a safe and well - maintained dirt road nevertheless. All good otherwise👍.
Solitude. Absolute solitude. I loved it. On my one night there I was the only occupant of one of the three ‘cabins’ and it was so, so quiet. Facilities were basic but incredibly clean and tidy… loved the shower… how the heck they got that volume and temperature of water out in the middle of nowhere beats me. I loved the scenery from the common-room type kitchen/lounging area where you can relax looking out from the large deck out over a large and beautiful pond or lake, whatever. I was more interested in the fish there rather the numerous bird species. It was only as I was leaving did I find out that there was a resident emu. 🙂Never got to see him unfortunately. Otherwise, all good. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

AustraliaI think the information about needing a code to get in the gate needs to be more prominent. Each message comes at the bottom of the last one so you need to scroll down though several to get to the message including the code. I can see others who have never been there before being caught out by this and ending up at the gate with no reception to check email. But that is a very small thing - it is a terrific place, I really enjoyed it. Thank you very much!
Everything! :) Breakfast was a really nice touch. Plenty of food and it was an unexpected bonus :) The wetlands is a beautiful spot with an amazing sunset view from the lodge. I came to look at the birds so I was happy to wander in a small radius with my binnoculars. For some the ability to walk further afield might be good. There are lots of birds and wildlife - you will not be disppointed in that respect, day or night. The permanent tents are extremely comfortable and much more like a hotel room than a tent! They come with spotting torches for looking for wildlife at night! Nice touch. The central lodge is spectacular and a wonderful place to hang out and look out over the water. Well provisioned with books on birds and wildlife you can borrow and even binnoculars if you don't have any. The communal kitchen is extremely well provisioned you could make any meal you desired in there, it is completely equipped. Terrific place to have a quiet dinner overlooking the water. There are only 3 permanent tents so it is easy to find solitude if that is what you want. HIghly recommend this getaway!
