Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United StatesWe upgraded to the animal view room and are so glad we did because we had a resident Koala at eye level just outside our window. Not sure that we would have been as happy with a bush view. The rooms are wonderfully luxurious and the breakfast was excellent as was the view from the restaurant. Dinner was also very good. Joined an evening tour of the zoo and saw several nocturnal animals out and about.

AustraliaThere was no lactose free milk in the restaurant which was surprising. Also no facility to withdraw cash as the whole facility was cash free. We had to catch a taxi to Mossman to withdraw cash for a Wedding gift. Taxis have trouble finding the entrance to the resort as it is further down from the zoo entrance. Needs much larger signs. We ordered 2 taxi's and waited over 40 minutes as they couldn't find the entrance.
The whole facility was amazing, the harbour views were exceptional. The animals walking around outside in the enclosure were lovely to watch from the full length glass doors in the room. We loved that we had access to the zoo daily, we stayed for 4 nights so we were able to wonder down each day at our leisure. We caught the ferry at the bottom of the zoo over to Darling Harbour and spent the afternoon in the city and at the Opera House. We loved the on-site restaurant for buffet breakfast and dinner daily, views from the restaurant over Sydney Harbour were lovely. The zoo itself is very impressive and the staff and volunteers do an excellent job, it is very apparent that they all love being there.

AustraliaWe didn’t eat in for dinner as it’s not really geared for kids food wise - it’s a little more upmarket and “spoil yourself” which is fine and made no difference to us - we just headed down to the local tavern Buena.
We stayed in an animal view room - “Thunder” the koala slept right outside our window and we were able to watch him eat (and mostly sleep!) such a privilege. Just wow. Retreat team were incredible. Views of the harbour were a knockout. Superb all round.

MalaysiaStellar in all ways. The only thing I would mention is think about where you choose to eat during the day and evening. We stayed for four (glorious) nights and mostly ate in other places to keep costs low, though the view from dinner was so lovely (and the food delicious) so the splurge is worth it when you know it's helping the animals. They list two restaurant options and I was thinking we'd use the less fancy one fairly regularly...it was perfect for a cocktail or a snack (with a stellar view), but not a big variety for several lunches and dinners. Not really a downside, just something to keep in mind. Basically...you should stop looking and book this place now.
Our stay was well beyond my expectations. Initially I was a little worried, as it was a little outside of my price range. I liked the idea that it was nonprofit and sustainable and I thought the proximity of the animals would be fun for my daughter. The staff was amazing...extremely helpful and kind and always went the extra mile to help us to feel welcome. This never happens, but the view was even better than what's listed on the site. We had a room facing the opera house and it was stunning...we also had an adorable koala outside our room constantly. Just like in the picture. Really. There were several extras that I hadn't anticipated...a morning and evening zoo walk and a tour of a little area made available only to guests. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and you could tell the zoo was working more as an animal sanctuary. I would 1000% recommend this to anyone. It's also extremely accessible, so my daughter and I were able to use it as a home base for exploring other parts of the city. We often came back with tons of sand between our toes and still had time to enjoy the view and the animals.

AustraliaThe pressure in the shower was the only disapointment. Very low pressure, just a little more would be perfect.
We actually wallked the coastline from Circular Quay and this was a fantastic little end to our trip. We mostly liked the interior and exterior designs of the retreat, perfect space, downlights, then the way the tetreat is run to educate guests and showing what you are doing to work with the land and Aboriginal community. Just wonderful. Bea checked us in, she was delightfully passionate and joyful. The room was very well designed and the whole retemreat really was a retreat we didnt want to leave. Also giving access to the Zoo on the same day and next day really helped our trip as we walked there so only had a few hours in the afternoon. Then the next day we had to leave around midday. So we were able to split our day into 2. Thank you.

Retreat rooms very well done and super comfortable, with great outlook. Loved their pillows. Provided our 3 rooms side by side. Staff all very welcoming and the lounge area lovely place to look out over Sydney harbour (which my sister did while we walked around the zoo). Restaurant dinner was very good as was breakfast. Again the staff really excellent. The views are stunning.
