A wonderful retreat close to Mudgee! It was my second time here and it is my favourite place to stay in Mudgee. I love the indoor and outdoor fireplaces, comfortable bed, classy amenities, and farm fresh eggs. The hosts were contactable and helpful.

Nothing it was perfect

The Wilgowrah church exceeded our expectations, it was exactly what we wanted/needed. It is a beautiful little place with amazing farmland views. It’s only a short distance from town so getting around was easy. We highly recommend staying here as we will definitely be back ourselves!

We did have problems operating the hotplates, but that might just be our inadequate technology skills! We also struggled with the TV channels but who really needs to watch TV when you are in an amazing location. We were however, able to watch a movie on Netflix on a rainy night.

The attention to detail. Everything was perfect. All necessary supplies provided, dishwashing liquid, salt, pepper, olive oil, adequate toiletries etc. As 2 major tea drinkers there is often not enough tea bags provided. Willgowrah provided an abundance. Also, real milk was provided. As frequent travelers we are dismayed that most places only provide long life milk which is disgusting. As I said it's the attention to detail that matters.

Space has been done up so beautifully. It felt like Steph and Rick had really thought of everything we'd need. We really enjoyed our walk around the property and lighting up the outdoor firepit at night.

Absolutely nothing! Everything in the church was perfect. If anything, we are eagerly waiting for the newly planted trees to become more established for some shade outdoor.

We love the beautiful, airy & thoughtful design of Wilgowrah Church! It looks exactly like the photos, but discovering all the little touches was very fun. Each time we looked up at the ceiling, we were blown away. You can feel the heritage of the place with modern conveniences and the clean interior. The inclusions such as the eggs and local treats were delicious. And as it was starting to get cold in the evenings around Easter, I even managed to bake a cake in the oven while my partner built a fire each evening. While the bathroom has no door, the space still works very well. Obviously this is for couples only! On our last day we had a lovely chat with Rick. This is the best accommodation we’ve ever holidayed in, and we can’t wait to come back

A couch would make the place cozier but it’s not a big deal at all.

Interior decor is beautiful and the skylight brings place alive. Location is only about 5 minutes away from town centre and yet you get to experience the picturesque countryside of Mudgee (if you wake up early enough during summer, might be able to catch the eastern rosellas or galahs on the fence). Although the property is close to the road, it’s not noisy as the road is mostly only travelled during the day.

The location is perfect, close to everything but still private and country atmosphere. Steph and Rick were amazing hosts and have us a great farm tour. The Church itself was beautifully decorated, had high end finishes and was super cosy. It has everything you need for a prefect getaway, we will definitely be back.
