Not a negative but - most of the crowd is there for longer term stay. WHV holders or long term travellers. Less of the short visit crowd.

Good vibe & decent facilities - as expected from a hostel. Have a pretty big kitchen though.

The room was small making it feel a bit cramped. The wifi didn’t work in the rooms, only in the common areas.

We booked a private dorm and it was really clean. The kitchen was big and clean. The common areas were nice with a big TV. Good location. We were accidentally overcharged and this was fixed with no hassle :)

Nothing I didn't like about the property but a lot of people just left their dorms open during the day, and people in our room left it open the entire night (we closed it multiple times) and we woke up at six from the noise, plus it just felt unsafe and weird. But that's not the owners fault I guess, it was just really annoying.

Everything - the furnishings are so cute, everything is clean, the bunk beds actually have some privacy which isn't that common for hostels in Australia, there's lots of free spices and such for everyone and the breakfast was included, the common area was big and had a TV with Netflix (with an account already logged in) and guitars, there was also a bar and a pool table. The owner was so friendly.

The bed is vertical to the hallway. The curtain is not fully closed so its easy to be seen from outside. And the room is stayed was without aircon. The design made the bed hard to get wind. Its a bit hot.

We used this as an overnight stop on a road trip from Sydney to Brisbane and it was ideal for the job. Great for the price but don't expect too many luxuries! Good communal facilities.

It was quite cold in the rooms. The people staying there (most were long term residents) were extremely annoying; loud, obnoxious, inconsiderate of others. Way more so than normal social hostels, where people are usually pretty chill even when socialising.

The facilities were good, if a bit crowded. The private room was good and had comfy mattress. Toilets were clean.

Bed was on the floor and being a little older found it hard to get down and back up. Also it was a rule for silence after midnight but people were talking and slamming doors all night.

The only detail that perhaps was not so good is the internet signal. It was intermittent.

I really liked it from the moment you arrive, they welcome you with a smile and give you all the information about where your place is, where you can cook and they suggest where you can eat around. At the end they ask you if you have questions. I liked the room that they have an area to leave things and the bedrooms are clean. The bathrooms also have signs everywhere inviting guests to respect the rules, which makes coexistence enjoyable.

The large window in the door for the private room had a blind behind it that barely covered the glass - I didn’t feel comfortable getting changed with the light on at night. Breakfast could have been explained at check-in better as we weren’t sure what other residents have left out of their own stuff vs what was available for us as part of the free breakfast. Still, no complaints that breakfast was provided!

Plenty of space in the hostel and in our private room. The bed was comfortable, we were given plenty of blankets in case it was cold and we had our own sink. There were plenty of toilet cubicles and showers and the water temperature and pressure were both great. The hostel seemed to place an emphasis on cleanliness and whilst it wasn’t spotless you could see that residents really to care to clean up after themselves and that that culture was embedded.

Absolutely lovely staff - incredibly friendly and welcoming - we aren't strictly backpackers as we were passing through on our way up to the Woodford Folk Festival. We stayed on Christmas Day night and they put on a BBQ for everyone staying there - great music and food and such a nice celebration especially considering travellers would be away from home for Christmas. The manager even shared his Mum's leftover pavlova with the guests! Super comfortable and clean rooms and a really respectful place, very well-organised and laid out. Great location close to beach and excellent cafes. Would highly recommend this backpackers.

- they don’t just have bunkbeds, but more like capsules with curtains. So it provides more privacy. - power outlet near the bed - it was quite clean - good parking situation (on the other side of the street, there is a large unlimited parking area) - friendly staff
