How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

...but the interior of the entire hotel a little bit to "cold" - no real restaurant for Dinner.
Location is great - esp. for Golfers. The room was nice ... the breakfast good.. the nature and wildlife really cool...

Not too much really close by to the property, i.e walking distance. So if you'd been out drinking wine all day it was difficult to get anywhere unless you got a taxi. There is a bar and restaurant on site, but wasn't much atmosphere when we were there.
The room was spacious and comfy with a nice view of the courtyard. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. Perfect location if you want to explore the Yarra Valley, we did a tour of the wineries, and it was a great location for that. Bonus was we walked round the property at sunset and saw loads of kangaroos. It was very peaceful. We were in a bigger car, so couldn't fit in the underground parking, but there was still plenty of parking available, just a slightly further walk away.

Rooms were comfortable and staff were extremely accommodating. Breakfast was great! A variety of items to suit all tastes and requirements. Ample seating space to accommodate groups and smaller numbers too.

It isn’t made clear that the pool etc are separate from the hotel and charge. We payed $50 for a family- children aged 2 and 5 to swim in the pool for barely an hour. It was a public holiday but really!!
Space throughout the venue. Breakfast. Undercover parking. Three eating choices in hotel. Nearby attractions. Golf course. Lovely trails. Wildlife. Baby ducks were a hit.

Nothing. We have stayed before and always book the Lodge when we are staying in the Yarra Valley
The lodge is very spacious. Staff are great. We had excellent breakfast and our dinner in Bella's was delicious

There wasn’t a thing done wrong. Staff so accommodating.
Breakfast was amazing. Dining room spacious with indoor and outdoor available. Beautiful grounds. Selection of foods to many to choose gluten options available.

Bar/ room service menu really limited and meant we went elsewhere. Bar was small and eerily quiet even though 15-20 guests in there. We came in for an evening meal but could not get out quick enough - It needed some music at bare minimum and female staff member behind bar to get off phone and at least engage with customers as everyone was whispering - bizarre. Stayed two nights and room wasn’t cleaned - knock on door at 430pm on day two to see if we wanted towels changed but seemed like an afterthought

Everything went well from checking checkout This venue is well organised. Dinner went well and considered exceptional Breakfast was a meal to die for, never ever seen such a variety to select from All staff were well presented and caring

I paid for 11 x pop up restaurant meals and got cash from relatives. When I tried to pay this at checkout, I was told it was card only. Luckily one family paid electronic to me so I just had enough in my account to cover it. Cash is legal tender.
Breakfast was fantastic, location great for us, food at the pop up restaurant excellent.
