At this price, there's nothing not to like

Great value gem in a mighty expensive city. Staff were super friendly on check-in (even with a busy pub to attend to) and the facilities were great. No-frills room but very comfortable and surprisingly modern, our room was well insulated from the pub below. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again

About the comforter, the cover is clean, but inside is yellow and some stain on it. The soundproof isn't very well, but the hotel provides the earplugs in the room, it is nice. If you are a light sleeper, need to think about it. The shower system can be improved.

the location was great just right next to the train station which is easy to get around city. The kitchen has basic amenities which could let you cook some simple food. Down stair has their own bar and kitchen, if you gonna have a drink or food. That is great.

My only complaint is that there was only one toilet available for use on the guest floor in the ladies bathroom. Given that there are a number of rooms that rely this bathroom there really needs to be at least one more toilet available.

The staff were superb - could not have been more helpful and were friendly also. The kitchen for guest use was great and kept very clean. The food at the pub was great. Right next door to St Peter's station and a five minute walk from Newtown station. Buses to Glebe/Coogee/St Alfred's hospital/Sydney Uni just outside the door! Great cafes and restaurants nearby.

They have kept the old pub feel but all furniture and fittings are upgraded. A real welcome with a show you to your room and show you around. Location right on eat-street.

The room looked more modern in the pictures and the bathroom seems out of a different century. The room had a stale gym smell like the carpets could use a cleaning.

Good price, great location near Newtown and Sydney Park, friendly staff. Shared kitchen and bathroom, restaurant right down stairs that can provide room service.

I knew this when I booked, so I'm not complaining but I think it's important for people (especially for those from Europe/colder climates travelling in the Australian summer) to know that there's no air con in the rooms. I was very comfortable with the window open and the fan on though.

Great pub accommodation. All of the staff were wonderful and it's a fantastic location. I accidentally left my tablet in my room when I checked out and one of the staff posted it to me afterwards (thanks Will!). Excellent bar downstairs too.

Going out at 10 pm to look for milk for my late night cuppa. Luckily there was a servo near by that sold us some. Otherwise all was good.

Really good value pub accomodation right in the middle of Sydney. Loved the rustic atmosphere and the area was quieter than I thought it would be. The bed was clean and comfy and the staff were very friendly. Loved it.

Room was pretty hot and the fan didn’t do much, opening window helped but as my side was facing onto the train platform it can be quite loud when they start running, bathrooms need a bit of an update!

Great location with good restaurants and public transport all a short stroll. Nice park to hang out in too. Great old-style pub which has been renovated. Access to a kitchen was good. Clean and quiet.

Well, the clean bathrooms are down the hall, but we knew that going in. No AC so I wouldnt want to stay there in summer.

The room is small but completely fine.

This hotel is a real gem. The location is incredible, the staff are great, and despite being part of a pub, the room was very quiet. Shared bathroom, but the bathroom is clean and has plenty of old fashioned charm. If I ever need a room in Sydney again, I kniw, where I'll stay.

No aircon - just ceiling fan, and very dark. BUT, Ive stayed here before... I shouldve asked fora room with a street view, not the back of the hotel. Those rooms are bright and cheery.
