Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe huge rat running in and out of a hole near the pool. One guest said the pool guy killed 2 mice earlier that day. When I told him about the big rat, he said it was hard to kill. I told the front desk and she just basically ignored it.
I liked the location, but it’s a little dated. The lamp by the bed did not have a charger or any usb outlets.

CanadaThe large dining and reception area at the end of the pier was in a very poor state of repair and has apparently been condemned for safety reasons for some time (many years), despite being featured prominently in the aerial photo promotions of the location. In a sense, this was false advertising, as the original facilities would have been a lovely dining and event venue (open air and over the surf). Radisson is a big name and should invest in the upkeep of its properties, especially when specific features that would be a draw for clientele are depicted but are not maintained.
All in all, it's a very nice spot, and the room met expectations. On-site dining was good but not included, so the bill added up quickly.

CanadaNot much to do in the area. Liked the town of Hastings better. But we were able to take the local bus to get to where the action was. The worst part was that you should be able to book in Can funds over booking.com. Rather then paying when arriving. Ended up costing way too much for one night. I staying at a much nicer place my last day for $200 cheaper.
The beds were very comfortable.

United StatesThe AC was too loud and did not work. I was hot in my room most of the time. Also, the phones in each room needs updating. Also, there should be a food option after 9 pm. I was hungry at 11 and had to wait it out.
I loved the food and the perfect ocean view.

United KingdomI wasn’t planning to spend much time in the hotel so this didn’t bother me but some guests could be bothered by some of the electrical facilities. The room didn’t have much in terms of traditional ceiling or wall mounted lighting, so you have to walk into the room to turn on lamps (could potentially be awkward if already dark, though it didn’t bother me). And my room mate reported that some of the plug sockets weren’t working or were finicky so you may end up plugging things into a socket that wasn’t your first choice. The shower is extremely temperamental in terms of temperature. We had 3 rooms booked across 3 floors and everyone had the same issue (one eventually changed rooms and it worked better) With the heat we experienced a cold shower was generally the desired temperature but if you wanted to get to lukewarm or hotter it can be a change that leaves you shifting from shiver inducing to scalding in a matter of moments with no input. My actual biggest issue was around the hotels policy on bottled drinking water. As it’s so hot you’re obviously going to be trying to keep hydrated. The housekeeping team always put 2 bottles of water in the room (very much appreciated) I got told by multiple members of staff that all guests got complimentary bottled water during the stay, yet whenever I asked for any it was real pot luck, sometimes I was sent to the bar where I may or may not get charged for the water. And sometimes I was told to give my location and some would be brought over. I ended up spending a reasonable amount of time and money going to and forth between the hotel and local petrol stations to get more water.
The location was absolutely fantastic, and the fact that the free Wi-Fi stretched onto the beach was a plus, makes it a lot easier to make your friends jealous in real time. We also had no difficulty ever getting sun-beds for 6 people wherever we wanted, always had space and privacy and out possessions felt safe, this is a minor point but I think it goes a long way. My booking didn’t include any food as I wanted to not spend all my time eating in one place, I did however have breakfast and dinner once and they were both surprising good for hotel food (scrambled egg in particular was possibly the best I’ve ever had!). A big bonus was that the pool was 24 hours, so if you get back late and want a cool down swim without having to contend with salt and sand it’s another great option. Also… the view! Absolutely outstanding if you get a sea view. A lot of the rooms come with a sea view as standard and you don’t need to pay extra for it, not sure how you confirm that at booking but I paid for a sea view and it was so worth it.
