Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt would have been nice to see the host when we were leaving.
Great location, easy to walk to all major sightseeing sites and shopping areas. Breakfast options were awesome and the combination of served and self serve was perfect.

CanadaThe room was small but comfortable located on a quiet street close to everything you might need ; close the Rogier subway station, close to a mall and an important central street Nouvelle Rue connected to the center of Bruxelles ; we walked from the location everywhere to Bruxelles central plaza, to St. Michel cathedral and to the Mont des Arts ( where we visited the amazing Royal Art Museum) The house has a nice dinning room where breakfast was served. Cecile , the hostesses was very nice and helpful giving us all indications we need

AustriaIf you are mobility impaired, note that there are two flights of steep stairs to the rooms. The breakfast is self-service so there's not much chance of meeting the staff/owner
The location is excellent and the room is very original - an old building carefully re-decorated. Note that the bathroom is integrated into the bedroom (a large bathtub plus wash-handbasins in the room) . A large living room / breakfast room is available all day to work in or enjoy a cup of coffee. The check-in times are very limited, but the host kindly met me at a much later time - arranged in advance.

PortugalHot tube (in this particular designer-room) inside the bedroom, in front of a wall, where no shower hanger existed, besides inexistent water protection to spill onto the wooden floor. Summarizing, that is not practical for a (quick) shower in the morning. It appears that Booking.com randomly selected this room for me upon reservation, without any (clear) indication of such details regarding this specific room (nor any other available room). No full window (light) shutter, where the basic curtains didn't do that job at all, and plenty of street/dawn light passes through them making it harder to keep sleeping after 6-7am.
Nice, large room with comfortable bed, with various pillows. Nice overall design, including wall paper, although compromissing a bit too much the bedroom practical/functional aspects. Nice breakfast, eventhough not with so many options, but at least of good quality.

United KingdomThe stairs! But I seem to have a knack for booking us into accommodation with lots of twisty narrow stairways! Again, there’s nothing the hosts can do about this - the building has a lot of character because of it. Not having someone on site was a bit strange but it wasn’t an issue for us.
Eclectic, comfortable, good location, very good breakfast and facilities. This is a luxury accommodation but it’s not an hotel. Despite being in the main shopping area it was quieter than I expected at night (although there was noise very late at night from some big machinery as they were laying roads and pavements outside and seemed to do some of it when there weren’t many people around - but that’s not the hosts fault. The property is surprisingly well noise insulated). The kitchen and dining room are gorgeous and the breakfast was fab - everything you could have wanted - fresh daily, and you could make tea and coffee whenever you needed. We were able to leave our bags there all day after we’d checked out as our Eurostar wasn’t until 8pm, and the lady who cleaned the room realised we’d left items in the fridge and bagged them up and put them with our bags.

RomaniaLocation, room and breakfast are great. The lady at check in was also very nice. It’s right across the street from a shopping center with food court, Carrefour etc in case you forgot to pack anything and 5 minutes to the Christmas market. It’s super warm in the room, which I appreciated since I am always cold.

FranceAlthough the stand-alone bathtub inside my bedroom is no doubt a great feature for a romantic getaway, I would have preferred a shower. Also, I didn't know it was actually a B&B. Fortunately, I read the small print and made an appointment for my arrival.
A nice little gem in the heart of Brussels. Behind this unassuming door (and steep staircase) lies a cosy home with designer furniture and plenty of art on the walls. A true oasis in a bustling city! Also, the landlady quickly contacted me that I had forgotten an item of clothing, so was able to pick it up before leaving town.

United KingdomNothing, it was great. Worth noting that check-in hours are limited as it is an apart-hotel, without extended hours of service, and that the rooms are up fairly narrow flights of stairs because it is in an old townhouse and rightly retains many of those period features. These are just things to bear in mind when booking, and are described in the listing, so just read carefully to avoid disappointment.
Great room and location. Room was clean and well maintained - great shower and bathroom facilities. Quiet and secluded, despite it being in a busy location. Lovely boutique apart-hotel feel to the location, which has all the benefits of both including feeling nice and cosy.

AustraliaGetting into the apartment block
This place is in the centre of town. You need a combination of keys and locks to get into your room which was a hassle to remember after a number of places with similar entry modes. A good breakfast was included in the price. The bed was very comfy and roomy enough to accommodate all our luggage. The central location meant that we could easily walk to all of the attractions that Brussels has to offer. The owners of the apartments were very friendly and congenial. A most enjoyable stay.
